I don't see anywhere in her resume that she has visited Pakistan or Australia. She has, however, been at Hebrew University in Jerusalem since 1992.

Anyway, I don't know why you are so defensive. No one is suggesting that Israel's social situation is amongst the worst in the world; many multi-ethnic countries have issues. Israel is no exception.

Every multi ethnic country has issues. In Israel people from different cultures and different languages come together. But people who are born in Israel have same language, same culture, intermarriage level is about 50%. As I said I hardly can see ethnic background of most of young people. In couple generations any ethnic differences will simply disappear.

I heard from my Israeli contacts and Friends that there is a subtle racism in Israel amongst Jews. Ashkenazi Jews feel that THEY struggled for and created Israel while Sephardic Jews didn't. So they feel themselves as bit 'higher' or 'better' than the rest. Many Sephardic jews try to "prove" their "Israeliness", I heard. I also met one Israeli soldier who told me that in his unit, many non-Ashkenazi middle-eastern Jewish soldiers went extra-hard on Palestinians just to show that they "care" and "love" Israel.
