What's new

Masjid e Haram,Makkah..new project.

@Bamxa

How do you do?

so you suggests that such hotels must be removed? @Yzd Khalifa @al-Hasani what do you say?

Hey there :smart:

Well,

Maybe you guys don't like what we are doing in Mecca and Madina, but I respect your opinion, however, you folks are probably unaware of how many people are in there right now, some are doing their Umrah, while some are doing I'tikāf , some people like to read Quran in there, and some people are taking their families to get around the Masjid and explore its unique architecture. As a result, KSA has to expand the Masjid to accommodate more people - particularly none-Saudis -

We want more people to come to their holy land and to experience their spiritual journey, so to speak.

Maybe it's easy for some of you to stand against such decisions, but believe me, god knows what it's going in there, these places are too overcrowded.

Since you live here in KSA, I'm a %100 sure that we DO know what's is going on.
Some People should really make an effort to visit the real islamic holy places in Makkah and Madinah instead of visiting some useless shrines in iran- iraq and india- to see how much the expansion is necessity of the hour-

The Haram needs to accomodate more people and it does not matter if some turkish irani or whatever irrelevant structures needs to be removed- level flatten them all-

well said, that is why I thought to let Saudis express their views,as they are residents of this holy land,so it will be much better for them to analyze rather then outsiders.

I just can't wait to visit masjid e haram and see new constructions :yay:

:welcome: I'm sure you will come here one day, after all we've got 2 million :pakistan:(is).

Dude! We need to push to the full capacity so more out of ~2 billions, can come. Don't forget that people need to eat, buy medicines, relax, and get around.
As a Makkawi Hashemite myself I was and am against the Abraj Al Bait. If it really was that necessary to build it then they could have built it elsewhere in Makkah or preferably not in Makkah at all.

But at the same time, which many outsiders seem to forget, is that Makkah is a city with a population of 2 million and in the metro area over 3 million. It is not a secluded area.

Anyway the expansions of Al-Masjid Al-Haram and Al-Masjid al-Nabawi are very necessary and I welcome them very much so for that part there will be no criticism.

You mean the whole project? Well, phase one is almost done, others are said to take a few years, maybe less or more. We are working 24/7 on them.

Hope you will support the expansion project :D

As I wrote many times then the expansions are necessary nobody is criticizing this. I was referring to the necessity or lack thereof of the Abraj Al Bait solely as a point of a possible criticism.

. . . .
And the Abraj Al Bait ignores luxury and personifies simplicity I suppose. No dont get me wrong, dont have any problems with the expansion as the number of Hajis has probably multiplied several times over the past few decades and the Saudi government is justified there, but I just find that huge 5 star hotel/mall building next to the holy kaaba abhorent. Shame that nobody speaks out against it. A 5 star hotel literally a few walking steps from the kaaba kind of destroys the whole purpose of equality between hajis dont you think?

(http://mestadelsbilder.files.wordpress.com/2011/10/5rv9b.jpg) picture of the kabaa viz a viz this hotel. Dont think I have seen a bigger paradox in my life. The Kaaba personifies simplicity, the tower does not.
I totally agree
