Maoist rebels kill 24 paramilitary commandos in central India

PATNA, India (AP) -- Maoist rebels killed at least 12 Indian paramilitary soldiers and injured six others in an attack Monday in their stronghold in central India, police said.

The rebels fired from hilltops at a group of paramilitary soldiers who were guarding workers building roads in a forested area of Sukma district of Chhattisgarh state, police officer Jitendra Shukla said.

Eleven bodies were recovered from the area and one of the seven injured later died in a hospital, Shukla said.

Shukla said the injured were taken by helicopter to the hospital.

The insurgents, who say they are inspired by Chinese revolutionary leader Mao Zedong, have been fighting for more than three decades in central and eastern India, staging hit-and-run attacks to press their demand for a greater share of wealth and more jobs for the poor.

Last month, the rebels killed 11 paramilitary soldiers in an ambush in the region.

The government says the rebels are India's biggest internal security threat. According to the Home Ministry, they operate in 20 of India's 29 states and have thousands of fighters.

But unlike Pakistan Army CRPF don't have authority use State element of power such as air force or artillery
Its more like guerrilla war Which is tough for even the world most advanced armies US in Vietnam

Intensity has increased frequency has decreased.

Now they don't hit again and again, they just hit once.

we lost close to 40 CRPF jawans vs 135 extremists. Very poor condition.

So far this year including recent incidents, 69 Pakistani security forces personnel and 189 civilians (Total: 258) were killed in militancy incidents whereas in India, 59 security forces personnel and 67 civilians (Total: 126) were killed in militancy incidents.
Pakistan is facing the brunt of the War on Terror, so that's not surprising. But it's interesting to see that the gap is closing down between Pakistan and India.

Problem is We Don't Use Elements of our state Such as IAF & others

In Guerrilla war like these collateral damage happens.Problem is also lies in state Policing they depend on To much central forces these days

Second,Total intelligence failure CRPF should need its own intelligence unit like BSF
Intelligence Beauru should also get involved in this
