Maoist Attack Train, Loot Weapons

Naxals seem to have become very active again this year their biggest strike was just last month with the attack on Congress party motorcade.

Honestly the success of attack was more about the stupidity of the Congress Party to not follow SOP in an insurgent area.

My city suffers from frequent water supply problems. Its my core issue. Should I take up arms and fight the govt.

1. am not supporting Maoists taking arms...
2. Maoists would not get so many recruits if the Tribals and locals were ignored and forgotten ... You have to solve their core issues and their core problems they are facing only then can remove this cancer from this country

Trust me.... its very easy to blame Maoists while sitting behind a computer having electricity connection and 3 meals a day . Even though they are wrong taking up arms we do not understand their problems....

Are all poor people in India tribals...I don't think so. There are poor people in every city and every village in India. Are they all fighting the govt. India is a developing country, short on resources. We have our priorities. We cannot spend crores of rupees to erect transmission lines to the jungle interior for some tribals who most probably wants them for free. We cannot afford to have a highly paid doctor in some jungle dispensary when we already have a shortage of doctors....Its just not practical.

There problems are corporates stealing their lands for mining and ethnic cleansing via police ,CRPF and salwa judum.

100 million tribals are there in the naxal zone .As of now maoists have 10 to 20 million sympathizers in the naxal zone. Use of military solution and continued corporate expansion into their territory will push the remainder into the maoist fold. Add 300-500 million shudras also, as many shudras in UP and Bihar go to maoists for protection from their landlords .

Also tribal belt is a jungle zone ,hard to operate military heavy armor there. Plus if massive military diversion occurs into the naxal zone which spans 30-40% of indian territory, the Chinese will smell Blood and will move in for the kill.

Strategies needed:
1)Stop Corporate encroachment and ethnic cleansing in tribal zone.
2) use of hindu/buddhist missionary to convert tribals to hinduism or buddhism
3) Preventing christian missionaries from operating in those zones(christian missionaries are very responsible for creating a network of sympathizers who shelter the maoists.-refer to Capt .Ajay Vadakiyil who has documented this evidence)
4)respect of tribal culture.

1 and 3 are very important.

By that account Maoists should have already reached Delhi.

They will in 15 years. The indian govt's policies remind me of Chiang Shek of Nationalist faction in Chinese civil war which is why maoists have influence in 30-40% of indian territory. If greed of politicans and corporates is not neutered , the maoists will win as corporate ethnic cleansing will push tribals into maoist fold. I know one thing about maoists. They eagerly await heavy military diversion into naxal zones . They want to open up a window of opportunity for the chinese to come. Plus a lot of dalit activists openly support or discretely support the maoists .

The Naxals are trying to bring about revolution since 1960s and India had much more social inequality than than now. Naxals/ maoists will remain in the Jungles of Central India.

There was moral values ,concept of karma and religion then in the lower and poorer classes of society. There was no massive corporate exploitation in tribal zones in those days.In those days naxalites did not have an endless stream of recruits.Today they have an endless stream of recruits coming from tribal background due to tribals joining in with the goal of vengeance against the indian state and its supporters .

Remember when Marx called religion an opiate for the masses and called for its removal so that poorer masses can instigated to revolt.Today religion is being decimated in india with the onslaught of western immorality espoused by the corporates. Also the christian missionaries are helping the maoists create a network with the goal of destroying hinduism in india.

maoism may be a reasonable cause at a time but not now ! they are no different than political thugs and worse ! if u belong in their area , you don't get a say whether you want to hold a gun or not ! if they tell u to shoot , you do that or you die anyway !

That was in the 60's .Now it is not so,but maoists have a vendatta against hindu missionaries as they are direct competition to their influence and religion is the biggest counterrevolutionary and so more deliberate ,they want to bring the oppressed shudras into their fold which seems to be succeeding in Bihar,UP,Orissa but failing in West Bengal . Mostly they have a decentralized and autonomous command. And mostly the tribal recruit are overzealous with bloodlust and desire to mass murder those who they think stole their lands i.e Govt forces and indian workers.

The only big thing and the biggest weakness of tribals. They are hyperreligious and worshippers of nature and maoists as of now DON'T dare to impose atheism on them as of now. Marxists are excellent students of sociology and to beat them the best tools are sociological in nature and the best ones are religion ,Charity and selfless help .That is where the marxists lack and the hindu missionaries excel (e.g Swami Saraswati who was murdered by naxals as he had succeeded in turning the tribals from pro-naxalite fighters to anti naxals and naxals saw people like him as severe competition in winning hearts).

To maoists , the best tool will be removal of corporates from tribal zones, transfer of mineral and property rights to tribals and huge investment in religious missionary work. If done properly you will see the maoist movement lose its primary life force. IT will evaporate in less than 3 years then.

But more likely the greedy politicans will steal with corporates and use CISF,CPRF,army and once army starts failing they will be first to flee india .Mark my words. The best solutions to deal with tribals are the religious in nature and the maoists know it very well and classify it their biggest threat. Military solutions have only served to heavily nourish their movements.

I will agree that the Maoist will have an agenda against anyonw who tries to interfear in their mindwashing games. There are no 'Hindu Missionaries' as Hinduism is a non proselytizing religion. But certainly Hindu saints who try to broker peace are in danger of getting killed.

I certainly disagree that the poor tribals are 'overzealous with bloodlust'. If anything they are among the most peaceful and least understood communities in India. They do not have an ounce of aggression which is sadly their Nemesis. They are far too accomodating and this has resulted in them getting sidelined and taken advantage of.

I also disagree that Maoist operations are 'decentralized'. If anything they are totally centralized and they protect this 'center' with a lot of passion....the kind that Osama bin laden followers did.

I agree that the best thing to do would be removal of corporates from the tribal belts till there are some basic rights for tribals are enforced for their benefit. Education, food security, reservation is a MUST.

As to the solution ....there are no easy answers. Killing Indians is certainly not the best approach ..... it is to be done when EVERY OTHER OPTION is exhausted. In any case killing of corrupt congress leadership is a blessing in disguise and we must thank the maoist :P

when i was refering to tribal bloodlust ,it refers to the ones who have faced stealing of land and ethnic cleansing . Normally tribals are non interfering till their kin are harmed.

TOI scribe's first-hand account of Maoist attack on train: We lay on the floor waiting for death

MANANPUR (JAMUI): On Thursday afternoon, it was a close brush with death for many of the passengers, including this correspondent, on board the 13331 Up Dhanbad-Patna Inter City Express which came under a rain of Maoist gunfire for around one and half hours.

I boarded the B1- AC-III coach at Jasidih on the Howrah-Delhi mainline for Patna at 11.30am. My co-passengers were R N Rathore, Rajeshwari Devi and their daughter, Chiranjeev Das, Alpana Biswas and her mother. My journey was to end at around 3.30pm. Everything was normal with the passengers sleeping, sitting and talking.

Around 1pm we reached Jamui - one of Bihar's seven Maoists-hit districts. After 15 minutes, the train stopped unannounced, short of Mananpur police station. We heard cracking sound and thought children were throwing stones at the train, not rare on this stretch. But, soon it became clear that these were gunshots. I saw a group of armed boys and girls, all in their teens or below 25 years of age, with their heads covered as they carried firearms.

"Maoists have attacked! They have seized the train. Hide. Save yourself. Hide below the seats, lie on the board, in the passage. Go crawling. Keep heads and bodies below the window. Bullets will hit the windows," someone sounded the general alarm. Others rushed to close the main doors. Those behind pulled the window curtains. Passengers did as ordered, or advised; no one cried or shouted, all on their bellies with heads and eyes down. There was a sense of benumbing panic, as cold as waiting for death.

The Maoists were spraying the train with bullets. They lobbed crude bombs to break open the doors. They failed to enter coach B1. However, in the adjoining AC-II coach, a bullet passed through the wooden support near the door, hitting a youth who died. The Maoists, however, could not enter that coach.

The Maoists kept throwing crude bombs while continuing with gunfire for nearly one and half hours. In between, they entered the sleeper coach behind us and asked the passengers to get down. Hiding below my seat, I slightly lifted the curtain and saw them being led to the nearby forest where they were made to stand in a row. The belongings of the sleeper coach passengers were looted

The recent Chhattisgarh incident flashed across my mind. No Government Railway Police or Railway Protection Force jawan had come to us.

There was hope only after the train started moving around 3pm, stopping very briefly at the stations. By 3.25pm, we were at Kiul Junction - a safe zone.

"No food, no water, no police for safety and no hope of survival. Only God was with us. We are out of hell," was the common refrain as passengers shared their experiences with a sense of collective relief.

No... such attacks happen from time to time in remote areas...

And the last months attack happened due to horrible and absolutely embarrassing security failures.

Damn Maoists are getting stronger RIP to dead
