I think it is time that military is forced into combat with Maoists. If they military chiefs refuse, then fire them. To protect the nation and its people from all internal and external threats is their duty. Living in a democracy, they have the right to express their opinion but cannot refuse an order to defend the country internally or externally. Since Congress is not even bothered about the nation, I doubt that tough decision would come from them. Hopefully, someone stronger (non-Congressi for sure) has the guts to take the iron handed rule of crushing Red terror. The warning must be conveyed to all tri-services and just to make it effective, fire some top brass away. That will set things going.

The poor indian trooper gets the back lash of the indian state which treats it's own people so bad, the Naxals have a strong local support in the areas they have liberated.

Thank you mod for tolerating this mockery of supreme sacrifice by indian troops. I hope you will use the same standards when I make this exact same post when balochis or talibs get some of your own 'poor soldiers' in the liberated areas.

It is perfect game for Pakistan with other countries to support them (Maoist and Naxals), it is fragile and serious in its internal matters. These groups are getting stronger slowly.

lol, Bugti is dead. The insurgency in Balochistan is almost gone. War on Terrorism is coming to an end also, if the Americans leave by 2014 if they keep their word, that is.
Naxalites have gotten stronger. The Naxalite insurrection is an old insurrection that haven't been defeated yet. The ULFA and insurgency in the 7 sisters are also there.
I wonder how much more India can take, before India collapses as a country.
