Many Indians turning to meat as their wallets grow fatter

My goodness!! That means an average Pakistani drinks close to half a liter of milk everyday!! :o:

Now don't blame us if we call them "Doodh pite bacche"!! :P

lot of people dont eat non vegetarian food due to religion and they are unlikely to convert..
many eat less often coz they cant afford, they will consume more once they get more money.

vegetarians dont know what they are missing though, its very difficult to cook tasty veggie food.. some vegetables are enemies of houswives... :girl_wacko:

plus doesn't bombay biryani have chicken in it...can't imagine biryani without chicken!!!

Not all Hindus are vegetarians, at least half of them are not. And those who are vegetarians, they mostly remain vegetarians even if they are super rich.

Meat eating or not has got nothing to do with Hinduism .....only beef is truely forbidden and this is accepted by hindus everywhere

Lol mate,me and my family can afford non-veggie food daily if we want to but still i have chosen not to consume any sort of non-veg food.Plus these is also a reason for that.When i was in the high school i used to weigh more than 95 kgs and was an avid consumer of non-veg food.But then someone told me the downside of eating non-veg food and hence i turned into a complete veggie.Now i weigh a little more than 70 kgs and i am as healthy as an ox.The funniest thing is that i haven't done anything out of the books to reduce by obesity,heck i don't even do physical exercises everyday(being an extremely lazy person) but still my weight automatically got reduced despite the fact that i continued to eat the same amount of food as i did when i used to have non-veg food.So from my personal experience i can tell you that eating healthy vegetarian food will keep your weight checked and will keep you healthy in the long term..:coffee:

If you think there is any downside of eating fish and chicken then i pity you. Other meats? I can understand but fish and chicken?

Taking less calories mean losing kilos, your case is similar. Nothing to do with avoiding meat. I can name dozen non-veg things which help increase kilos. Also veg diet do not replace fish and chicken. Imagine if Indians didn't stop themselves from eating meat? They could have been bigger (not fatter which one can become by eating cookies which are vegtable BTW) and more prepared for countless invasions.

And you guys would have remained non-hindud, indo-aryans would not have invaded and imposed their way of life on indigenous Indians.
