Just a few? if you want to try something with more advance physics you should try out orbiter 201x software. It's a lot more dry, and less gamey, but far more rrealistic...even getting a rocket off the ground is hard!

lot of errors in your post
1. gravitational potential not gravity potential
2. gravitational potential is gravitational energy per unit mass not potential associated with the gravity per unit mass huge difference b/w these two
3. You used gravitational potential and said its scalar quantity( which does not depend on direction ) to prove direction does matter.

so total Impulse
440X24X60=633600N-sec
Mass= Total Impulse/change in velocity
= 633600/1099
= 576.52KG ( Dry weight of MOM is 500kg small error in our calculation is due to the neglected weight of Fuel )

MOM has entered in Martin Orbit. It will start sending photographs shortly. Probe shall be inserted into martin orbit which will let us now about the composition of Gases and Methane in particular. That will enable us to know about the possibility of life and vegetation on Mars.
