An Indian man allowed his wife to marry her secret lover just six days after they tied the knot and now the three of them happily live together.
On March 4, Basudep Tappo, 28, who lives in the Palmara village in Odisha wed a 24-year-old woman from Jharsunguda.
All was well for the first six days of the marriage until one of the girl’s ‘cousins’ came to visit their home,
The Times of India reported.
Tappo welcomed him into their home, however, when other villagers came to know that a stranger was living in the house of a newlywed woman, they descended upon the house and thrashed the ‘cousin’.

Consequently, the woman confessed that the man in actuality was her lover whom her family had disapproved of and despite her protests the family forced her into marrying Tappo.
The two of them then chose to continue their tryst in secret.
When Tappo came to know of this revelation he allowed his wife to marry her lover and that the three of them then live together.
Reluctantly, both of their families agreed to this and a second marriage was organised.
“The lives of three people would have been destroyed had I not done this. This was the only solution. Now all of us can be happy,” Tappo said.

His mother, Sanibari Tappo, praised his wisdom, saying that her son had made the best decision, under the circumstances.
“Our lives would have become more complicated had this solution not been reached,” the woman said. “We will never forget his contribution.”
“When we came to know of Basudep’s decision, we felt that it was the most appropriate thing to do in such a situation. So the entire village came forward to support his wife’s second marriage,” said Gajendra Bagh, the head of Pamara village.
