That is a mistaken position to take.
Most BD Muslims do want mutually beneficial relations with India, despite what you may think.
For example, if the Indians prove reliable in providing the 500MW of power that was negotiated, then expect a BD government led by BNP to want to increase that in the future. Of course BD will never give India the power to hurt the BD economy too severely in the case of any large rupture in relations, but as the BD appetite for power expands then there would not be too much risk in allowing 10-15% of total BD demand to come from or through India.
It is really up to India now to show reciprocity because the BD government has shown a willingness to work with India.
If India wants to then BD/India economic relations can become good.
BD did its best when India was building a large hydro-electric power station in Tripura. It even built a temporary road across the Feni or Gumoti river to transport the extra heavy machines for Tapiala power plant.
It is supposed to be reciprocated by India by selling a total of 500 mW of power to BD. India seems to be doing that a little belatedly.
India also wants a transmission corridor through BD land for the power it will bring from Arunachal and in exchange it wants to provide BD a certain amount of that power in exchange. It is a win-win deal, no doubt.
BKZ is not criticizing India when she knows India is trying to provide some facilities to the country. I hope, India becomes pro-active in the coming days so that Indian policy does not become an election issue.
LBA, Felani murder and Teesta water are two such issues. I think, people in BD cannot just accept the murder of that little poor daughter of ours by the BSF criminal Amiya Ghosh.
