It does not seem sensible that Malik came to see Taj or sign visa document (which has made easier for those who cannot travel alone, under 12s and over 65s). He came to India to win the next election in Pakistan. His address at Delhi was not for the Indians but to the more vitriolic of his constituencies in Pakistan. He has admirable clarity supported by a noticeable absence of sentiment and no sense of embarrassment. The rules of politics are far more important to him than the laws of hospitality.

The majority support base for BJP is more of a right centrist people fed up with the pseudosecular policies of the Congress dominated coalition. The last rule from BJP is more of a centrist rule. There are extremist groups within any party but that does not mean they represent the party's overall outlook.

A joint statment would have been more in favour of India or Indian point of view specially keeping in mind that Rehman Malik was part of it.

Are aap samjhe nahin. If a person comes and make idiotic comments on Babri Masjid and compares it with 26/11, do you think India should ignore it and issue a joint statement. He was here to take the matter forward, instead he made his visit a mockery.

Ask any person with some diplomacy knowledge, these statements made by him are always counter-productive.

As for elections, why did this same govt. allowed Pakistan team to play in India even when the cricket relations were broken on sole reason of 26/11.
