What's new

Malaysian Election watch

Same school of thought, not much will change for the non-malays like unequal rights from discount on housing, 30% ownership of listed companies, trade on resources and many more. That's what I've been telling my ethnic Chinese brothers to come to mainland to live and do business, don't feed the ungrateful handicapped Malays.

Trying to smuggle fake election papers to stay in power, dirty tactics of the malays
LOL, i heard of it, but this first time i see the video. UMNO miscalculated Malay swing.

.
Mahathir had always been anti-Singapore during his years as PM. Let's see whether he will continue Najib's cooperation with Singapore if he becomes the PM.

.
Anwar is no way in what so ever is an Islamist. Mahathir is even stronger Malay nationalist. Najib is worst among all, during 1987, he led death to chinese rally with his father 1969 with anti-Chinese riot. Mahathir maybe anti-west, but he is by nature neutral. The country won't be run by Islamist, too weak, did you see the result carefully.

Not true, DAP and PAS together is even more fragile. Secular vs Islamist. But they are not a coalition this year. PAS went separate ways and try to play 3rd party tilting force. Looks like neither side need them. PKR is not an Islamist party.

Yeah, but with China and non-Malay supervisors and workers from Bangladesh. Malaysian economy had been growing 6% but that growth is not felt at all to the majority of the people while cost of living is increasing. This is democracy we are talking about, the people demands result now not empty promises. Also people who are voting for the government are those voter base that demands Malay rights to be protected. When those people saw housing projects and banner and flags done by China, they lost faith in the government. Those things can be done by local people. This is not Africa we are talking about. The company should have printed the Flag and Banner in Malaysia.
I am old enough to know Anwar came to power on the back of the Islamists. He is a good orator and good at confrontation but not good at cooperation and solving problem. I live through the period when he was a minister in UMNO. I live through when Al Arcam was at it it's peak when Islamists arrested Malay girls for participating in beauty contest. So I know a lot about Anwar. His wife wears a tudong. What does that tell you. When he was the education minister he attempted to shutdown the Chinese schools which led to confrontation with Chinese educationists leading almost to a race riot.

I know he has changed. Yea only after being kicked out of UMNO by Mahathir.
Most people mellows out when they grow older and maybe he too.

My mistake. You are right.

His past rhetoric when he was in UMNO party on SG is mainly for internal consumption to shore up support.
Biz as usual, behind closed doors

They also like to use anti-semitic card to gain support but still they do business with them discreetly.

Like they say, race and religion card is the trump card.

I have my reservations about Anwar, but I am not so sure that he is not good at cooperating with others. After all he built up Keadilan from the ground up in a country that was almost totally dominated by Barisan. And he did it with the other ethnic groups. That is no mean feat.

Al Arqam had nothing to do with Anwar. In fact, Al Arqam was banned by the government when Anwar was still the Deputy PM. You are confusing things.

And as far as his wife wearing a tudung, what does that have to do with anything. I bet you have some beliefs or traditions that are exclusive to your ethnicity. Just because someone wears a tudung does not make them anti non-Muslim.

As for shutting down Chinese schools when he was Minister of Education, you are just parroting the MCA line. I do not give it any credence.

Yes Al Arqam was banned by Mahathir. I did not expand on it due to time constraints.
Throughout all the Islamist issues, it was Mahathir and his daughter that spoke out the most. Anwar just kept quiet.

Anwar as education minister wanted to replace Chinese headmasters with Malay headmasters in Chinese school. That's the first steps to shut them down. There are many examples of Anwar being anti-chinese. I could go on and on when I have time.

Congrats to all malay citizens here from this Indonesian!

God save Mahatir and may his rule be prosperous! In this election, Malaysians made history.

I know the old grandpa is controversial, but damn if it isn't admirable just how determined he is to fight for his country. Truely an elder worth his salt, the type of leader you must respect whether or not you agree with him.
