Malaysia looks to Pakistan after Indian palm oil controls

We are not reducing our imports , we are just diverting it from Malaysia to Indonesia. We will import more crude palm oil from Indonesia instead of refined from Malaysia ,this will be benfit our local refiners. It would hvae been difficult to do this abruptly hence using Kashmir pretext as an excuse.

I know, my point is it will cost more.

Perhaps I should rephrase my earlier question differently: Is there enough demand for palm oil in Pakistan to justify an increase in Pakistani imports of Malaysian palm oil to compensate for the losses caused by India's ban?

Thank you Mr. Mahatir, tons of respect for you sir and your stance for Muslim, Pakistan & Kashmiri's - such a true Muslim leader. I am sure Mahatir must be under a lot of pressure, because of exporting Palm oil issue, due to which he had to give the following statement.

"I can step down now if Pakatan Harapan's presidential council wants me to: Mahathir"

Salute to you sir, despite of many internal challenges you are standing with Pakistan and Muslims.

Pakistan should try to help Malaysia, Govt should urge Pakistani tourist to go visit Malaysia to boost their tourism and buy their product to support them. Do our best to help them in this difficult time.

Pakistan & Pakistani's also need to understand who are their true allies, who stand with them in UN and in other forum and who are the ones still investing in Indian after knowing what it has done to Kashmir. KSA and UAE didnt support us and it was Malaysia & Turkey who supported us. We need to realize who our friends and who pretend to be our friends otherwise, we will go in isolation and in future nobody, nobody will support us.

Even Malaysians are sick and tired of this loose tongue oldie. Look at the comments in their newspaper. How mockingly they refer to their PM cozying upto Pakistan? Just in the name of Islam. Some of their comments are outright abusive to him. 90 percent comments say the oldie lost his mind, it's time to pass on the baton.

They likely originate from the same mumbai slum ip address as those patriotic "Pakistani's" that spam the comments of every DAWN article, or those "Turks" constantly tweeting about how they hate Pakistan, or those "Afghans" that only read and write hindi, or those "Americans" who are seemingly there to defend India in the comments no matter how obscure the content is.

Yes, it's not a rare gem but bulk costs matter. I think you're not aware of what palm oil is used for. It will 100% hit the public.
I know what palm oil is used for. The question is not how Palm oil scarcity is going to damage us, it's how malaysian palm oil scarcity is going to damage us. The answer is zero impact.

Probably, the damage will be on the wallets of the public. Something, something costs increase when you import from elsewhere.

Similar like Indonesia who somehow in the future can ban all textile import or steel import to improve its own textile and steel industry. This action is actually against WTO trade agreement.

EU hasnt yet ban palm oil import. They just plan it to do but hasnt yet done it. Indonesia can still export crude and refined palm oil to EU up until now.
Then read that WTO agreements with the specific condition which prevents ban of import of a commodity.
I haven't seen it.

Probability works both ways. It can also cost less if that 'elsewhere' place agree to export at reduced cost.

we should facilitate the Malaysian Trade and business in Pakistan
Didn't you folks even refused to attend economic forum in Malaysia? Snubbed Malaysia and Turkey?

There is Indonesia. Another big exporter of Palm oil. Actually scratch that, its the biggest exporter of palm oil.

again answer is NO [with capital letters]
Oh well, lets see if Pakistan really cares and fills in place of India. Actually judging that you import a lot from Indonesia, you might be. So long India does not dump all the Malaysian oil.

No shit, but probably the reason India imported from Malaysia was because costs were lower.

I think India is copying China in weaponizing trade and economic might but unfortunately for India, it doesn't carry as nearly as enough weight as China so I would suggest keep your head down and develop your economy further before engaging in adventures.
