Malaysia looks for new L.C.A

It has a much better chance than the tejas because of the fact that it doesn't use any Israeli tech
Tejas MK1A will have Indian radar and E/W suite, and we are offering MK1A. JF-17 is not a choice because it will use chinese weapons and it’s dispute is with China.

MK1A does not use Indian radar or E/W suite yet, neither will be in service prior to 2025. Hence it does not matter, I literally explained that. Even the first batch of Indian Tejas isn’t going to be here before 2024 and that batch uses Israeli tech.

Indians have a habit of comparing the stuff they plan to have several years into the future with what the rest of the world is using right now, and I’m seeing it yet again here.

JF-17 Block 3 is in serial protection and will be here by the next year and it’s totally a choice, just not the favorite choice, the fact that they considered it and specifically came to Pakistan to check it out before they even considered the Tejas should tell you something.
Meanwhile MK-1As first squadron is to be operational in 2024. Tejas and JF-17 have probably the same amount of chance to get picked; that is to say, little chance. It will most likely be FA-50 block 20.

Tejas is perhaps the only so called export aircraft in the world which is not even inducted in any airforce properly nor it has seen any real action, Only place where Tejas can beat the shit out of anyone and everyone is perhaps on a Bollywood movie, nothing more nothing less

Most like the FA-50 over both, everyone in the region is getting it, it’s next version is getting AIM120 so it’ll have BVR too. Tejas is less likely due to the above mentioned reasons + Israeli parts. FA-50 similarly has Israeli parts but less so, that might be the one demerit of FA-50 for Malaysia, but they might not care.
JF-17 is good but China and Malaysia are at odds recently, the sale might be hampered by that. Especially since all the weapons/munitions are Chinese on it.

It’s still anyone’s game but I’d say FA-50 is most likely.
Totally agree with that. Purchasing JF-17 would essentially put Malaysia into the Chinese camp. Not great place to be when you have territorial disputes with China and US is trying its best to gang up everyone else in south east Asia to counter China. Malaysia would have to give up its claims to South China Sea if it decides to buy JF-17s. So best option would be FA/50, decent platform with love from US too :azn:
