This is certainly a conundrum and not an easy question to answer.

Pakistan is being neither run decently nor there is any chance. And india has gained domination whether we like it or not. So these arguments to make peace with india on their terms is actually not an argument but a doctrine possibly bajwas too.

Major businesses in Pakistan including PML-N's and PPPs corrupts and their liberal followers and also it seems a large section of miltablishment are now peddling this doctrine because they know they themselves wont change and hence some betterment might result in peace with india.

Personally, I would rather have an asteroid strike hindutvadis, but reality is bitter.

State of Pakistan is going deeper into the abyss and the very reason of existence of Pakistan is being seriously revisited if it was worth it or not. Raheel Sharif era operations did well to take care of 90% of terrorism, but that left over 10% is still huge and its going on since 2016. And it have only increased since taliban take over. Obviously still nowhere near peak terrorism we saw in the past.
