What's new

Make in India' for 90 medium combat jets

its nothing but yet another pressure tactick by rivals of dassult to get indian defnce pie why ?

1. cost of 90 jets and over all programme just $30million :o:

2. second link and its amphasys on Rs 1000cr on a single fighter jet ? do i need to say more

Hi,

The numbers are just a smoke screen---.

F-18 ASH=$65 million=less than $5.8 billion+ other small stuff like weapons and building maintenance center=less than $8 billion total.

F-18 can serve as a dual role. either as a land fighter or based from Indian future aircraft carriers.

Yes man.. but the problem is if we get the rafale and to buy one more new fighter in Medium category will be logistic nightmare. Mig-29,Rafale and Super hornet..

So does India expect the Chinese and Pakistan to stop procure more jets overtime so they can maintain this parity that they are looking for? What happens if both the Chinese and the Pakistanis procure more jets????

This fever of parity will never end. Its sad to see a country with over half a BILLION people without basic needs, just focusing too much on being a military muscle guy, without having the genetics for it (economy and public welfare at a specific level like its in the US, the West, in Israel and in China).

we know tht and we are not contradicting anything abt tht , but sir its not easy to lift half a billion population living standard, it takes times , and we live in democracy not like china whr u can just grab the land build some , move the population. it will take time our govt is taking steps towards , our govt is destined to provide eveyone housing by 2022 , so tht goal our govt have got. so also we need jets to protect our border so please bear with us u will see the result in future.

no one would give 100% ToT besides maybe the Swedes.

but I can say maybe 50% ToT and 50% offset.

Indian needs help with making it's own engines. ToT on the F-414 would save India a lot of trouble.

Not even Sweden will give 100%. the amount you mentioned for F-18 is without ToT right (lets leave the %) but with tot will cost 60%-100% more. we can easily buy all 126 fighter for less amount, but we need ToT to mount the tech on AMCA then with FGFA, LCA and AMCA we don't need to buy any more fighters from outside the country. that's the plan... spent a huge price now and save the headache in the future

That's good but selling point would be 100% tot ie sanction proof
Will USA agree to that ?

Hi,

100 % transfer of technology----I don't know if I want to laugh or if I want to cry.

Then you want to know if it will be sanction free----so you asking the scorpion not to sting you.

Off course the U S would agree to it till it has your contract and your cash----they are just waiting to sink the final nail---the fighter aircraft contract---then they know that they have you by the ballz---.

Other than that---you can buy anything from them and dictate your terms.

i think it will go to tht country who will agree to provide engine free from sanction for our amca project so these both of them can provide engine for amca project free from sanction and about usa if they can change their policy of sanction untill then gudby

yes thr was but they are still reluctant about sharing the technology which we want for lca mark 2 and amca , we want close to 110 k power engine and only usa and france has tht so let see

@samlove Dude yes.... they are going to co develop engine for AMCA with Kaveri engine tech and the partner's engine... France,US and UK have replied.. now India should choose one. If we get ToT on MRCA then that tech will be used on AMCA and the engine is co developed so no one can stop this fighter from flying

Ya noway they're going to give us the tech but they can help us run this engine with their enhanced performance tech.. most probably russians would give us tech but defiantly not US
