What's new

Make Gilgit-Baltistan the fifth province of Pakistan

Oh please. We could have our forces vacate to have plebiscite done and if your IA tries to pull anything cowardly, we'll have a missile ready for you guys.

Do it and then come dance on your keyboard,..

Very good if your part is not disputed, then so is ours! and Kashmir is not disputed!

India and Pakistan can co-exist peacefully!

WHY? Valley should be disputed when even GB is not disputed!

Historically speaking these were distinct areas but we are welcoming a plebiscite on all of Kashmir but since India won't do it on the side controlled by her, at least we can continue to give basic rights to Kashmiris we have liberated.

Later when India allows we can have another plebiscite on all of Kashmir according to wishes of Kashmiris.

Completely wrong and an utter tripe.

GB is as disputed as Azad Kashmir as it was also a part of the Dogra Kingdom of Maharaja Hari Singh.

Hari Singh had marginal rule and was historically taken over. Also Hari Singh was a monarch and hence not a rightful ruler in the first place. We have divided the region to match the historical divisions in the area controlled by Hari Singh. But what I am proposing is either a full Kashmir plebiscite or mini plebiscites wherever possible.

Conduct one in GB and then conduct another one in the art of the valley controlled by us.

Or one combined one in all the areas controlled by us.

This will hopefully force Indian government to allow plebiscites in its own areas.

Historically speaking, the part of disputed territory that you have is not kashmir.Kashmir refers only to the kashmir valley which is entirely in india. For simplicity the region before independence was called Kashmir and Jammu for it would have been tedious to call it Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh and Baltistan and....

You have been hoping for this from 60 yrs and will hope for another 60 yrs without any benefit..... We are hoping for a status quo and things are working out just fine for us !!!!:azn:

We are not discounting the disputed status of all the areas previously under Hari Singh's monarchy.

However there has to be a way to end the dispute. Can India and Pakistan bilaterally declare okay this is our, that is yours? No the main stakeholders are the people of Kashmir and Jammu and Ladakh and Baltistan and Gilgit and Hunza.

This can only be decided by a vote conducted by a third party.

Ok congratulations you get the obstinate nation of the year award. I am not arguing that you have been wrong for the past 60 years. Thanks for agreeing.

Shimla Agreement makes this a bilateral issue.

There will be NO plebiscite! Period! It is very difficult after 60+ years!

What joke it is ?

It was a princely state and the king was its legitimate ruler. Period.

Pakistan can conduct as many plebiscite, mini-plebiscites it wants. It won't change that fact that Jammu Kashmir will be a part of India. And if in any case India is to conduct a plebiscite it will only be after atleast half a century of scrapping Article 370, just like Pakistan and resettling all the Hindu Pandits and Buddhists who were chased out of the valley by the jihadists in the 90s.

As i have told earlier that the social demographics of the region have been changed.Hindus have been driven out of the valley while pakistanis have flocked into P0K.So now if the plebiscite happens it wont put forth the true voice of the kashmiris. So there isn't gonna be any referendum. Most probably the present LoC will become the International Boundary. However i would have loved to see the map(in my avatar)to become the reality.
