Major Terror Threat: TTP Planning ‘High Intensity Attack’ In Peshawar, CTD Issues Alert

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) police’s counter terrorism department (CTD) has issued a threat alert for the city of Peshawar, anticipating a “high intensity attack” from suspected TTP terrorists. The threat alert, signed by SSP Sajjad Hussain of KP police CTD, says that the attack could be similar in nature to the bombing of the Peshawar police lines’ mosque in January this year.

The alert also states that the police could be a specific target of such an attack, and has ordered heightened vigilance at all police gatherings, police stations, traffic headquarters, police lines and other police establishments.

While the alert says that the attack could happen in the next 5-10 days, it also calls for observing all precautionary security measures in order to prevent and preempt any terror attack from taking place.

TTP is our own making. Why did our establishment feed and nurtured snakes to destabilize other countries? Thousands of militants were trained ny the military for the Afghan jihad. The same process kept on going in the 90s when nunerous organizations were mushroomed to send them to kashmir.

India has nothing to do with this. This is our own strategic blunder. Nobody put us on gunpoint and told us to radicalise our society like this. We should have held the establishment accountable.

Not only TTP, I believe, but an unruly Afganistan under chaotic Taliban will also be a major headache for your Govt in the coming years. Although the Pakistan public will not agree in front of the media, but you have to pay more attention to solving or making peace with radical elements from your western border. Otherwise, your entire investment from China for the economic corridor will be impacted.
