A major terror plot was foiled on Sunday as a joint operation of Delhi Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) and Jaipur Police nabbed four suspected Indian Mujahideen (IM) terrorists from Rajasthan.

One of the terrorist was arrested with 250 Kg of explosives from Jodhpur, while other three IM suspects were held in Jaipur.

Latest reports indicate that many terrorists managed to escape the police and a search operation is on in many areas of Rajasthan to hunt for them.

Among those held, is the notorious IM terrorist Waqas alias Ahmad Javed of Pakistan, who is known to be involved in many terror attacks like Gaya and Patna blasts, Zaveri Bazaar blasts and Dilsukhnagar blasts.

Waqas, who is thought to be close to Riyaz Bhatkal, is also wanted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), which has kept a bounty of Rs 10 lakh on his head.

The arrests came after the Intelligence agencies had issued an alert warning of possible terror attacks in the run-up to the General Elections 2014, that are to start from April 7.

Under suspicion is a new IM module, that is in direct contact with the IM leader Riyaz Bhatkal, who is said to be in Pakistan.

Delhi Police is to hold a press conference regarding the same at 1 pm today.

The arrest come after some reports cited IB sources as saying that the BJP leaders' lives were under threat.

Concerned with the reports over terror threats to its leaders, a delegation of the Bharatiya Janata Party had on Friday met Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde

Shinde had denied having information about possible threat to the BJP leaders from terror groups.

"We have no information regarding terror threat to BJP leaders," he told reporters here after the saffron party claimed, citing media reports, that the lives of its top leaders were under threat.

Shinde said adequate security has been given to BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

It may be noted that there were bombs placed at Narendra Modi's Patna rally last year.

Also, a report few days ago had suspected that the Indian Mujahideen men may be on the prowl to kidnap a politician to bargain for the release of IM co-founder Yasin Bhatkal, who was in last August arrested from the India-Nepal border.

Yasin Bhatkal and his associate Asadullah Akhtar are presently in the custody of Maharashtra Police and being quizzed for their alleged role in a terror case there.

Four suspected Indian Mujahideen terrorists have been arrested in Rajasthan in a joint operation by the state Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and the Special Cell of Delhi Police. One of them, Waqas, is alleged to be the chief bomb-maker of the banned outfit and a close aide of its jailed co-founder Yasin Bhatkal.

A Pakistani national, Waqas is one of the most wanted in connection with several blasts in the country, including the serial blasts in Mumbai in July 2011 that killed 27 persons and injured over 130.

He was, in fact, identified by Bhatkal in the CCTV footage as the one who planted a bomb at Zaveri Bazar, one of the three sites where blasts occurred.

Sources say Waqas was also involved in the twin blasts in Hyderabad last year, the Pune blasts in 2012 and the Jama Masjid shootout in Delhi 2010.

He also allegedly has links to the Al Qaeda.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had announced a reward of Rs. 10 lakh on any information leading to Waqas' arrest. Its website describes him as someone who poses as a student and is computer savvy.

While Waqas was picked up in Jodhpur, the other three were arrested in Jaipur. Police recovered detonators and two sackfuls of bomb-making material, believed to be ammonium nitrate or potassium chlorate, during these arrests last night.

Sources in Delhi Police say the trio belongs to the Rajasthan module of the Indian Mujahideen (IM), which was recently formed after the Darbhanga module in Bihar was exposed following Bhatkal's arrest at the Indo-Nepal border in August last.

The NIA, which filed its chargesheet against Bhatkal last month, had claimed that the Rajasthan module was constantly in touch with Riyaz Bhatkal, the alleged IM founder based out of Pakistan.

killer of muslims can never be pm
modhi is a terrorist
But the killer of Sikhs in 1984 can become PM, watching in silence as the pogrom was going on under the very noses of the CongrASS?

Heck! As per your analogy, the Congress must also be filled with terrorists! :P
