Major Samia Rehman from Pakistan, shares 8 things she loves about Serving For Peace with UN

it's good to see women in the military of south asia but let us not mistake these missions are for peace... they generate money and that's why bd/ pk and other third world countries participate in these... if peace was the concern then... kashmir/ rakhine wouldn't have happened
I think it has more to do with those countries that are funding UN.

Pak/BD and other countries like these can't just send their peacekeepers anywhere...UN decides where peacekeepers are sent...and by UN I mean the countries that provide much of the funding are the ones that decide where peacekeepers are sent.

Here are the top 10 countries that fund the UN peacekeeping missions...
  1. United States (27.89%)
  2. China (15.21%)
  3. Japan (8.56%)
  4. Germany (6.09%)
  5. United Kingdom (5.79%)
  6. France (5.61%)
  7. Italy (3.30%)
  8. Russian Federation (3.04%)
  9. Canada (2.73%)
  10. Republic of Korea (2.26%)

Not just the funding for peacekeeping missions...a lot of the funding for UN in general comes from US and European countries...and that's why UN isn't truly impartial and fair.

This is still somewhat acceptable...what's actually shameful is that not even the Muslim countries care. If they cared they could form a sort of "peacekeepers" of their own...
...but we have seen the inaction of OIC time and again.
