Mahathir, Rouhani, Imran, Erdogan likely to visit Dhaka D-8 summit

Pakistan never get return favor for showing big heart to countries like Bangladesh or Afghanistan be it politics or cricket. dont know when Pakistani leaders will learn, i am sure the same Dhaka will refuse to come to Pakistan for next Saarc meeting held in Islamabad if India orders them.

Wrong. Pakistan has 2nd largest Shia peoples in the world after Iran and nothing to do with sectarian elements. It is more to do with Iran relationship with India and their activities against Pakistan through Iranian soil.
Okay I already understood. But thanks.

Mahatir is the only Islamic leader I trust, Erdogan and Rouhani are just snakes and acting hegeimonic in terms of vis a vis with Muslim nations
However, D-8 is all about cooperation among the developing Muslim countries and no leader is supposed to play regional politics. we need Uzbek cotton. Let us see what Pakistan will say on helping with it. Uzbekistan is not in the D-8 grouping, though!! Nevertheless, a Muslim country with which all the Muslims of the Subcontinent have a historical relationship.

Guys, please let us stop bickering here.

This is an important event as it signifies the beginnings of the idea of a "Muslim bloc".

Muslims need to get ready to take their place as the 3rd pole in the world next to West and China.

As we see economically and technogically powerful Muslim countries like Turkey, Iran, Indonesia and later on BD,the world's Muslims can unite behind these leaders for the peace and prosperity of all Muslims.

Soon enough, India will realize that attacking Pakistan for local elections and politics is expensive in terms of man and material (read 27th feb). The Hindu fanatics will need a new target after dealing with local Muslim population; which is 'soft' and cannot fight back the way Pakistan does. No prizes for guessing which country checks all the boxes below:

1) Is a neighboring country
2) Has a majority Muslim population
3) Cannot fight back

The sooner Bengalis realize what is coming for them, the better!

I think this block should be strengthen further and too bad Egypt is under dictatorial regime once again. If Egypt is still under Muslim Brotherhood, I believe their country will support this block 100%.

Agreed, one of the worst disasters that happened in the Arab world is deposing Mursi and replacing by this dog Sissy.

The neighborhood or international relationship that you have predicted was good for the 12th century. This recipe is not applicable in the 21st century world.

Very true but someone has to play the role of big hearted big brother and Pakistan fits the bill.

Think it is best to leave Arabs out for now.

Once the Muslim bloc is formed and is strong then Arabs can be allowed in.

Allowing them in early will only cause the bloc to lose focus.

Mahathir, Rouhani, Imran, Erdogan likely to visit Dhaka
D-8 summit in May 30-31
Shahidul Islam Chowdhury | Published: 00:15, Feb 14,2020 | Updated: 00:18, Feb 14,2020

Top leaders of eight countries are highly likely to be in Dhaka on May 30 and 31 for joining a summit meeting of D-8 Organisation for Economic Cooperation, a group of eight Muslim-majority developing countries.

The Malaysian government has formally confirmed the visit of its prime minister Mahathir Mohamad, and several countries have also informally confirmed that their heads of the government would join the summit, diplomatic sources said.

Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Turkey are members of the organisation, also known as Developing-8.

The government will also send invitations to Egyptian president Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Indonesian president Joko Widodo, Iranian president Hassan Rouhani, Malaysian president Mahathir Mohamad, Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari, Pakistan prime minister Imran Ahmed Khan Niazi and Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan to visit Bangladesh, officials said.

Foreign ministers of the member countries are also expected to join a council meeting before the summit set for May 30.

The D-8 leaders are likely to visit Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar on May 31.

Developing-8 was established in 1997, with its headquarters in Istanbul. Its objectives are to improve member states’ position in the global economy, diversity and create new opportunities in trade relations, and enhance participation in decision-making at international level, among others.
