since last 7-10 days i was suffering from sore Throat, cough and running nose. Tried everything. but no solution.

Finally had two large bowls of Nihari during the weekend. Worked as magic.
Now its next to impossible to get Nihari in Bangalore. But u can get decent one in Tunday Kwabi ( a branch of a world famous Tunday Kwabi of Lucknow fame).

SO in this changing weather if any of my fellow bangalorean is suffering from ore Throat, cough and running nose please hae a go at Nihari.

Don't intend to be rude, just very surprised, do you know what Nihari is? Are you talking about the Nihari that was formulated in Delhi? You do know that the authentic Nihari is made with beef right? Are we on the same page here?

my dear friend,

1. Nehari is originated in Lucknow.
2. Nehari of Lucknow mostly uses Goat Meat.
3. Any red meat which can withstand 10 hours of rigorous punishment is suitable for Nehari.
4. I have in my life all types of Nehari. including : Beef, Buffalo, Lamb and Goat. disgusitng Chicken nehari as well.
5. What i had last sunday was goat Nehari.

Usually when I have cough throat or running nose, I prefer soup depending on non veg availability. In proper meal my favorite is lamb, though I eat mostly everything except pig or cow/baffalo meet. In region wise I prefer Iranian food joints available here.

a few outlets do serve Nijari and paye in Shivaji Nagar and near russel market! but the taste is quite different.

Nihari is best with beef shank. Other cuts are generally not suitable.
Nalli Nihari ( shank) is among the best .. but beef is not a necessity.

Irani food scene is great in Bangalore. :)

Nehari with camel meat.... absolute love
what can i say !! do try camel Marag soup !!

If there is no beef then there is no Nihari. There is no better place to eat Nihari than Karachi
mere bhai,,, the version of nihari you have in pakistan is the delhi version. which is quite different from original Lucknowi one. and yes delhi version is more into beef and buffalo meat.

There used to be a “Delhi ki mashhoor Nihari” restaurant on College Road in Rawalpindi during my school days at St Mary’s Murree Road. I tried many time but found it too hot. In Karachi at Burns Road there were also quite a few Nihari sellers but I always found too many green chillies floating around.

On the other hand “ Kunna gosht”, a specialty of Chiniot (half way between Sargodha & Faisalabad) is one of my favourites. I find it ‘Finger licking good’ but because it is too greasy, I don’t eat it very often.

However I admit that many of my friends would die for a good Nihari

sir.. it seems Delhi style dishes are more famous in Pakistan be it korma or Nihari. Is it because migration of muslims from Delhi was in comparison of migration from Lucknow and Hyderabad?
