Magic figure of shadow economy

No we dont need fence. Our police is enough to randomly rounding them up and hand them over to BSF. Besides we need more manpower to excel our mnufacturing industries which are running short 25% employee everyday. If some Indian could find a job in those industries which are dying for extra hand, then we dont really mind. Infact they are helping our industry. Also lots of maid jobs are falling vacant as well, as maids are more interested in working in Garments than sweeiping floor which are getting filled by Indians in massive number.

Staying in USA . How do u know Indian maids are working in Bangladesh ??
Have u kept u r shadow in Bangladesh ??
That shadow might be helping Bangladesh in increasing it's economy . I mean Shadow economy . :toast_sign:

So good thing that we don't want to loose our fellow countrymen for the irresistible offer of being maids in a manufacturing paradise of Bangladesh. After all Bangladeshis are luxuriously rich to pay their maids as much as any other job in India. All hail splendorous Bangladesh.

Come to Mumbai u will understand that even 20 million is small .
Almost every building has a bangladeshi servant working

Almost every household in BD is struggling to find a maid servant no matter how much we are willing to pay! Agh!! So it's not the flourishing garments industry, it's YOU who took our domestic helpers! Now I understand why there is so much cross border human trafficking in SA.

Cmon, I'm not trying to act mean, but why don't you train your poor neighbors (Diet of mud and despair in Indian village) and hire them instead?

I understand your sarcasm, which is partially true. The divide between rich and poor here is much much much less than that in india. GDP/capita is only part of the story. We have more jobs per "person under poverty" than in india - may or may not be higher paying but I can't really say.

How do you know that they are Bangladeshis? Do you go around randomly checking people's documents?

Indians dont have document but everybody holds a ration card. Infact most of them lives on hand out.

This is it... if we even take the lowest amount 50 billion as the shadow economy per capita income of Bangladesh will be higher then that of WB or Kolkata in particular. N with the higher end of 82% shadow economy with per capita income of 751 USD predicted by IMF in 2010 for Bangladesh it will be higher then that of bhartis 1200 USD.

In real term BD always had higher per capita income then the bhartis even up to 1975. So, it surprises me when bhartis try to portray that even a backward eastern region like Kolkata has 4 time better living standard then dhaka when living standard of dhaka is better then kolkata.

In a country like Bangladesh when only 1% of the people pay tax with majority providing fake info, counting no private bank, hospital or uni in GDP calculation and when there is a big shadow economy one can not get a true nature of the economy unless they they themselves observe the living standard of the 2 region namely Bangladesh and WB.

Bangladesh government recently has taken initiative to make 2005 as the base year to measure GDP. It will also give a boost to the economy as with 1995 present day economy does not have any matching or similarity.

All the diluted bhartis should now come out of the wet dream that India is like a heaven and 20 million Bangladeshis has went to India for searching better life where as it is the place where one third of the poor people of the world lives and has more poor people then sub saharan africa combined.
Oh yeah. India doesnt have a 'shadow economy' at all! You make a LOT of sense.

Incorrect. Ration Card only tells Your basic Information. Many things still left Who is your Father ? Mother ? Family ? Where they were born ? Where you born ? When You were born ? Hospital ? School ? Birth Certificate ? and many more. You can say i am Indian for a moment but eventually, You can't prove that you are an Indian if you are not. There are various ways to find that. Then Why not happened ? Must be some reason which will be solved and deported back after few years. I am sure...

Well its quite different in my country. Nobody can be declared non Bangladeshi unless proven otherwise. Its not individual's responsibility to prove himself the citizen of Banglades. Even it is against the law to deny anybody of any basic services even though he/she does not possess National ID card. But ID card will help to avail services quickly.

PS: what is the percentage of Indian getting born in a hospital and what is the percentage of Indian possesses a birth certificate? You learned a lot while living in Singapore it seems (as you probably even learned to take your wife to a maternity hospital). You should go back to your country and share those learning to your fellow countrymen.

Here also same. Indeed, More strictness. Let say i met someone today morning for some work like to hire him/her as a maid. Since, I had some doubt about his/her nationality. Hence, I asked what's your nationality ? He/She said " I am Indian see my ration card ". I said Okay and hired that person for such work. That's it. For me, A poor employer at low price is important for me. Others will charge more. Simple!

Ration Card and Voter Card has limited importance and doesn't proves your nationality. I don't have ration card. Let say i don't even have voter ID card. Does it matter ? Not at all. I have 10's of other things which are more important like Passport, Driving Licence, Pan Card, Multiple Bank Account, Birth Certificate, Schooling Certificate, Universities Degrees, My ancestors certificates, My Parents Certificate, and so on. Identification is not nationality.

To Prove you are Indian, you need to be an Indian. You can't change or make 100 such natural things. But Individual don't ask for such proof. Only Police and Security personnel ask such things when required.

Once government decided to identify who are Illegal. It's possible to know.

I already said, There are 10's of things which can't be changed. If you don't have birth Certificate ? Fine. What about your father ? Mother ? Where they were born ? Where they lived ? Where is your house ? How long ? There are certain ways to fine. This was told by some high rank police officials to me when i asked at my friend's home.

I earn more in India. lol. Singapore is Just some small business trip and holiday. Don't go personal which is not important.

It’s more like, if you’re a Muslim from WB you must automatically be from Bangladesh. 20 million, you guys really believe some crap. That would mean half a million crossing the border each year, may be you need to sack the BSF, for incompetence.

I am feed up with this entire BS, quit moaning find these so called 20 million, prove they are Bangladeshis and deport them or S_T_F_U.

Oh yeah. India doesnt have a 'shadow economy' at all! You make a LOT of sense.

When you have seen that I have said that India does not have shadow economy??? Even this article has said that every country has shadow economy and it ranges from 4-20% for most of the developing and developed country. But in the case of bangladesh it is 45-82%. Which is absolutely not the case for majority of the country. The present statistics based on which per capita GDP is calculated is mostly unreliable and does not represent the true figure on the ground. In bangladesh only around 1% people pay tax which majority fake info as I have said earlier. This also keeps the majority of the peoples real income out of touch. As the article has pointed out recent rise in the price of property, share and other thing demonstrate the rise of shadow economy. If you look the way people are buying cars which worth at least more or around 10 lakh and apartments which cost atleast around 50 lakh which was unimaginable even couple of years back to be bought by any middle class people is now a days bought quite easily by them.

Just wait 2-3 years to resolve the power crisis n then see how it more fuel the growth of economy and per capita gdp of banggladesh as many industry will come online which can not come online due to shortage of power and how it creates more jobs and earn more foreign currecy by exporting those.

Some states of India is really progressing well and bd can learn a lot from that but if you compare overall India.... it will not be able to compete with bangladesh in terms of growth due to a huge disparity between regions namely east and west India and gap between the rich and poor and small land area of bangladesh will be another reason as it will cost less to develop the infrastructure then that of India.
