What's new

Made to polish senior's shoes, wash his clothes: NSG commando

you mean butman !!! I think its no longer in armed force right ??? NSG COMES UNDER HOME MINISTRY

It may be the fact that since NSG under home ministry doesn't provde an orderly to this officer hence he choose to seek a commando to do the household job.

Not Really, They are given Helpers, They deliver the monthly rations, They Cook, And Clean the House.... This Trend was started By the Royal Indian Army and Unfortunately We still Follow It...

Yaa, u are right .They are called helpers .But still their work pretty much simillar. Sometime officers takes them along when they are on holidays and helpers don't make fuss about it.

Well Young Man, I do not Know Much about other Officers But I certainly have not been Assigned One, Probably because I used to stay in the Engineers Mess along with my Subordinates...

I know its not obligatory ,but i've seen helpers coming along with when officers get transfered .One of my friend brought a helper of unit home to help out in the arrangement of his marriage ceremony .

As Long as the officer and Helper Enjoy each others company , I dont think there should be any Kind of Issue.... Helpers are doing there Peace time Duty which is in no way Against any rules, But When It comes to Human Rights Then Should the matter be Looked into seriously. As in this Case...

The system of erstwhile "Batmen" has undergone some changes- they are called Sahayaks now. Of the three services only the Indian Army had/has this system. The Sahayak is a serving soldier.

why to make fuss? they are meant for the work. though the case of Commando is different as he is not a helper

Err.. don't join the security forces if you don't want to be dictated terms

Not surprising, most units won't tolerate insubordination.

I dont agree to this two points.

The commando joined the NSG to save his country, not to polish the boots of his officer, however superior they might be.

The NSG are issued rifles an not polish brushes.

Insubordination is only when a commando disobeys his commanding officer which pertains to his duties and polishing the boots is not his duty by any stretch of imagination.

Secondly, if he had written a letter to the DG in private about his superior do you know where it will end up ?? Straight in the dust bin, unopened and unread. He had to go public so that the media tracks it. Sad reality of the Indian system !

The Indian media is not part of the Command and Control system of the Armed Forces. The Armed Forces have their own Disciplinary and Grievance redressal system. While it is significantly different from the civilian model it is also significantly more efficient. Also do not forget, an individuals existence in uniform in the Armed Forces is governed by the Army Act and similar ones for the other forces not IPC or CrPC etc. That is what makes life in the Armed Forces different from civilian life.

Speaking from my past experience, i joined a service to learn/acquire some skills. Along that way i also learned to polish shoes to a mirror finish; i'm none the worse for that experience.

If all allegations are found true, then the guilty should indeed be punished.

However, I must say that this "underground slavery" is prevalent in many other sectors as well.

A colleague of mine who is a pediatrician has been used in a similar manner during his residency by his guide. Threatening to reject his thesis for non compliance. (Though he did not have to polish shoes!)

Yes they have it all. But what is the guarentee that his case is looked upon in an unbiased way ?
Shukla said that since he did not want to be dictated terms, he defied the Major, and is now the focus of the other's undeserved retribution.

What if instead of punishing the Major (if true) the commando is punished.

Surely not even the Army is the noble institution (though better than others) it once was with various revelations coming in the recent months.

Sir, just because you enjoyed it doesnt mean every one will agree. I repeat washing clothes and purchasing food from market is not job of a NSG (supposed to be the premier force ) commando.

just ask your self - what the real situation will be .

if you are an indian you will know the truth- and have no doubt about it.

then you can come again and edit post munching the carrot.

we all know these things do happen - but the problem is - people ignore them and they keep happening again and again.

media need to light here on this case atleast 10% to the munni and sheila ki jawani
Show some respect to seniors here right? That is how U earn it. About the carrot munching he has been around here for long time with good contribution.
