MASHA'ALLAH!! SO NICE

These two pics are from a recent expo in Tehran and it seems these are IK's new models, but nothing has been confirmed at all. IK was talking about releasing a new truck, could this be it? Their logo and everything is on it.

They look good. To be frank, IKCO has been producing some very good looking cars/automobile models recently - the Runna, Dena, now this. I can not agree on some other issues with the regime, but its model of self sufficiency is commendable indeed. The vast majority of Muslim countries without even half the pressure, threats and sanctions, have not achieved half as much, even though some of them may be loaded with petrodollars (they can not even price their commodity in their own currencies).

We’ve built a flying saucer, boasts Iran

It’s not clear how far or how high it can fly – or even how big it is and what makes it take off.

But an aircraft created by scientists in Iran is, they claim, the world’s first flying saucer.

Called the Zohal – or Saturn in English – it said the unmanned spaceship is designed for ‘aerial imaging’ but added it can be used for ‘various missions

The hardline Fars news agency illustrated its story with a photo of a flying saucer, akin to one appearing in a 1950s Hollywood B-movie, hovering over an unidentified wooded landscape.

The reports gave no indication of the spaceship’s size. But they indicated it was small by claiming, somewhat bizarrely, that it can also fly indoors.

‘Easy transportation and launch and flying, making less noise, are some of the advantages of the device,’ said ISNA, Iran’s students’ news agency.

‘The device belonging to the new generation of vertical flyers is designed for aerial photography.

‘It is equipped with autopilot, image stabiliser and GPS and has a separate system for aerial recording with full HD quality!’

Iran, which prides itself on its 2,500 year-old civilisation, is also keen to show that it is at the cutting edge of modern science.

Tehran’s ambitious space programme alarms the West because the same technology used to send missiles into space can be used to build intercontinental ballistic missiles.

Last year the country announced it had successfully fired a rocket that carried a mouse, a turtle and worms into space.

Tehran insists it will be able to send a man into space in nine years’ time.

For president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the advances demonstrate the country’s ability to push on with its science programme despite international sanctions over its nuclear programme.

The flying saucer was said to have been unveiled at an exhibition of ‘strategic technologies’ attended by Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

At the same time Iran’s Space Agency launched a test spacecraft designed to sustain life in orbit.

The state IRNA news agency said the capsule was carried by a rocket called the Kavoshgar-4 (Explorer-4) 75 miles into orbit before returning to earth.

Iran’s often outlandish scientific claims usually prove difficult to confirm.

American naval forces in the Persian Gulf have yet to come across a ‘super-modern’ radar-evading flying boat Iran claimed to have tested four years ago.

We’ve built a flying saucer, boasts Iran (even if it does look like it belongs in a 1950s B-movie)

Iran acquired the KH-55, long-range cruise missile. there is no defense against it ...

If Israel or the USA use nuclear weapons against Iran or any other country, Iran or any other states attacked will be provided with nuclear war heads and allow to use it as part of a secret deal signed in 2005.

Israeli aerospace official: Iran cruise missile poses 'extremely serious' threat TEL AVIV — Israel has been closely monitoring Iran's long-range cruise missile program.

Officials said the intelligence community has been examining Iran's efforts to develop and produce a long-range cruise missile. They said the missile could fly under the radar of most regional states and change the balance of power in the Middle East.

"This is an extremely serious danger," Israel Aerospace Industries chairman Yair Shamir said.

Shamir, head of Israel's largest defense contractor, identified the Iranian program as the KH-55 cruise missile. The missile, supplied to Teheran by Ukraine around 2006, was being enhanced by Iran's Defense Ministry.

In an address to Israel's first multi-national ballistic missile defense conference on May 5, Shamir said Iran sought to extend the range of the missile beyond 2,500 kilometers. He said Iran also was developing an air-launched version of KH-55.

"The pace of missile development is much faster than those of solutions," Shamir said. "The new element is that Iran is already in space."

Tal Inbar, a director at the Fisher Institute for Air and Space Strategic Studies, said Iran received at least 12 K-55s from Ukraine. Inbar, who works closely with the Israel Air Force, said Iran has already displayed a cruise missile that resembled that of the U.S.-origin Tomahawk.

"It's purpose remains unclear," Inbar said.

Officials said KH-55 represents a growing Iranian capability to significantly enhance foreign missile systems. They cited Teheran's success in extending the range of the North Korean No Dong missile from 1,300 kilometers to that of at least 2,100 kilometers under the Shihab-3ER program.

"There have been significant developments on the part of Iran," said Arieh Herzog, director of the Defense Ministry's Israel Missile Defense Organization.

Iran is NOT increasing the range as claimed by IsraHell to scare the European, BUT in fact decreasing it to what's needed to hit the Zionist territory with an INCREASED PAYLOAD of high explosive!...

Iran reverse engineered 12 KH-55 3000 km range cruise missiles bought from Ukraine - Iran Defense Forum

However, we now have the first evidence of the reverse engineering of these lethal weapons in an interview with Alireza Jafarzadeh of Strategic Policy Consulting, on Fox News conducted in August 2005:

Strategic Policy Consulting Inc.

What happened was that the missiles were received by Iran’s Defense Ministry, then the Defense Ministry delivered them to the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, the Revolutionary Guards Missile Unit and then the Revolutionary Guards took 10 of those missiles, reconstructed them, and took care of all the problems they had, made them operational, and added them to the missile capability.

Now the other thing that is even more chilling is that 2 of those missiles were delivered to an engineering unit within the Defense Ministry headed by an engineer named Karbalai, who is director of the Cruise Center Division of the Organization of Air and Space within the Ministry of Defense and what they did, they basically dismantled these 2 missiles and they did it in several facilities, including a facility known as Parchin, Parchin Military Complex.

They dismantled the pieces and parts of the missiles, then did reverse engineering, and trying to copy every single piece and every single piece of technology, and they have very capable experts, a lot of the experts who now work in the Defense Industry are the ones who gained mass training in Russia, France, Germany, China, North Korea and other places, and recently there was a report that Ali Shamkhani who is an outgoing Defense Minister said in a secret meeting of the Supreme National Security Council of the Iranian regime.

He said that they have now almost completed the technology to copy the KH-55 cruise missiles and he said, and this is his words, now with the range of this missile which is 3,000 kilometers the regime is now able to threaten the European countries. And, don’t forget, this is a nuclear-capable missile, because it flies in low altitudes, it’s very difficult to detect and to bring down, so this is the latest news about the missile technology of the Iranian regime.

Confirmation of the proliferation of the KH-55 cruise missile platform through reverse engineering:

Iran would inflict so much damage to the US forces in the first few days of hostilities and then would subsequently win a war of attrition, that it is clear that the US will never attack Iran, as it's basically a cowardly bully that only take on much weaker opponent, even though it still often manages to get beaten up, like what have happened in Vietnam and now Iraq...

The Kh-55 strategic cruise missile is used for destroying known relatively fixed position targets; its guidance system combines inertial-Doppler navigation and position correction based on in-flight comparison of terrain in the assigned regions with images stored in the memory of an on-board computer. The propulsion system is a dual-flow engine located underneath the missile's tail. The missile carries a 200 kt nuclear warhead.

The first tests of this missile were conducted in 1978 and a few units were installed on Tu-95MS aircraft in 1984. Three aircraft versions of this missile are known as: Kh-55 (Article 120, alias RKV-500, NATO's AS-15a), Kh-55-OK (article 124), Kh-55SM (Article 125, alias RKV-500B, NATO's AS-15b). In addition, the land version designated RK-55 (SSC-X-4) was destroyed in compliance with INF disarmament negotiations.

This long-range, subsonic cruise missile was introduced in 1984, several years after the development of the U.S. ALCM. The Russians refer to it as the Kh-55 or RKV-500. Like its U.S. counterpart, it has a long range, though less than half that of the ALCM, and fair accuracy. The AS-15 likely cruises at 200 meters. Approximately 600 are believed in service.

The A model is designed to be carried by the Bear Hs and the B model by the Blackjacks. This weapon gives the Bear H a credible standoff capability. This design is shared by the SS-N-21 Sampson naval cruise missile, and the SSC-X-4 ground-launch version, although the AS-15 is smaller, since air launching obviates the need for an initial booster to get it airborne. Non-nuclear development of the AS-15 is reportedly underway.

The sea version SS-N-21 Sampson is reportedly deployed on the Akula, Victor III, Yankee Notch, and Sierra class SSN submarines. However, since the SSC-4 coastal defense variant is carried in a 25.6-in (650-mm) diameter canister, some analysts have suggested that the sub- launched variant is probably for launch only from 650-mm diameter torpedo tubes.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

These were the specs of 1980...

The significance of the Soviet era Kh-55SM should not be underestimated. This is the most capable strategic cruise missile in service globally, other than the US AGM-86B ALCM and BGM-109B Tomahawk. It is the backbone of the Russian air launched nuclear deterrent, equipping the Tu-95MS Bear H and Tu-160 Blackjack A bombers.

http://www.ausairpower.net/APA-Cruise-Missile-Proliferation.html

The Russians are now refurbishing them to Kh-555 standard. With a terminal optical guidance and conventional warhead they give the Russians a very long range conventional strike capability that they have otherwise lacked. Able to be fired from air, land, sea and under the sea they are very useful weapons and are relatively cheap considering the threat they create to any potential opponents. With a simple box launcher and a pre-programmed target (world wide data available from Russian satellites) in the US or Israel could be launched from a container ship or even a small corvette... the box launchers thrown overboard after launch... if not seen there will be no evidence and a preprogrammed flight path with lots of doglegs and turns would easily obscure the launch position. Patriot and Arrow would have serious problems shooting down a ground hugger as they are optimised for high flying ballisitic missiles.
