 indians are morons... they see hens laying eggs before the eggs they intend to buy from the market haven't been even bought .. let alone been hatched.

P.S: idiot,

TAI = Turkish Aerospace Industries.

And they haven't nor will move to india.

.
The ink on the contract hasn't even dried and our unfortunate neighbours to the SOUTH are already having wet dreams... there is a word for that... premature ej...

.
Well F 16s will be replacing the MiG 21s and the MiG 27s in the future...that is like the lowest end of our fighter contingent. It wont even be in the frontline units i guess. The F 16 is much better suited for that role in Indian airspace.

.
I am sure, if India gets the production line for F16....spare parts and upgrades for Falcon fleet of PAF will be very hard to get.

TAI doesn't produce spare parts....TAI outsource those from LM, US...now, if India gets the production line, TAI has to outsource those from India.

Most of the stuff in the F-16 is not produced by LM.
It is produced by subcontractors.
It all depends on the contract between LM and TAI.

But I guess given IP issues, LM will have veto over products produced by its subcontractors.

Subcontractors cannot sell to anyone without LMs approval.

For TAI, a contract states how and where TAI gets parts for repair, and/or upgrades.
Logistically, it makes sense that they get parts directly.
A contract between LM and Tata cannot break other contracts, or LM opens up for lawsuits.

This also means that many parts that India could possibly produce themselves,
may have to be bought from companies which have exclusive rights.

Without knowledge of details of the contracts, we do not know what India can produce.

It is known that Norway,Denmark, Holland, Belgium demanded share of future production
as part of the deal to buy their aircraft. India will be bound by these contracts.

means PAF is coming to hot waters!

Buying Made in India parts, means contributing to Indian economy for its arsenal is not something Rawalpindi will like! If it doesn't and retires F-16 30 years from now and relies on efficacy of Chinese JF 17 and J 31s then it cannot compete with Sukhoi and US made planes like F 16s!..

It is high time to start working on fifth generation aircract at Kamra (in collaboration with chinese of course).. ASAP..

.
Doesnt matter anyhow, we might've ditched the 16's completely by the time the spare part issue actually arises, j 31's will replace them hopefully, @MastanKhan u were right about the horrible love affair of paf with 16's. Just imagine if we didnt have other options........

J 31 is a 5th gen plane, it will be able to handle anything india throws at it easily including rafaels with the new array of chinese lethal bvrs...

Turkish Aerospace Industries will be moved to India ? :what:

TAI F-16 Facility's not TAI

I meant TAI F-16 Facility will be moved to India , Lockheed Martin is closing down all other facility if India gives the contract .

Oh you must have missed the rest of memo, but here it is, enjoy

Lockheed is not moving anything unless the Indians buy the F-16 fighters, and if Indian agrees to place the order. They are planning on building a new plant in India, to make F-16s for the Indian government.

It's more cost effective to build them there. That would shift some of the production from its current line in Texas. They're still making F16s for Iraq. The US stopped ordering them a couple of years ago. The F35 is supposed to replace it. Lack of new contracts for the now 45 year old aircraft are drying up and the facility in Texas may wind down unless the feds don't approve the plant in India. In which case India may back out of the contract which could still kill the Texas plant. There used to be plants in Belgium, the Netherlands, Turkey and another in South Korea, those have all since stopped producing F16s as there is no new demand for them.

That means, in order for you to have this facility you got to order the jets plus keep buying from it to keep it going, and if LM does produce F-16 in India, Pakistan will start to switch over,( whether, some F-16 (f-sola) fans like it or not) from F-16( f-sola) to some different platform leaving India sole proprietor of jet plus very expensive production line
