Agreed, I have seen many westerners kids laughing and making fun of the common indian names like "Dikshit" and "Sukdeep" and making the kids lives miserable who are so embarrassed to even discuss it with their parents. Probably that is why now a lot of Indians when move to the west adopt English names as their first names.

You know, you have to take things with a pinch of salt. This is actually funny and I do not blame Indian and Pakistanis to make fun of the situation. Most of them are kids. Same thing happened in the Akbar Zeb thing. Zeb in Urdu and Persian is beautiful but is same university in Arabic.
If I ask someone:
Where did you graduated from ?
and he answers:
I'm a Lund graduate.
I might be offended and my reply would be:
Ja bund mara panchood

While i do understand that this is a great university, probably better than 90% of Indian universities, I wouldn't recommend an Indian student going there if they intend to come back to India after completing studies. Imagine coming back to India, applying for jobs and having LUND university written on your resume. Recruiters don't know much about foreign universities other than ones in US, Canada, UK, Germany, Japan, Singapore and perhaps France, Spain and Russia. Most recruiters will think you have submitted a troll resume and will tear it apart. It's not easy to get a job in India anyway, don't make your search harder by having LUND university on your resume or linkedin profile.
