I don't think Lahore was ever famous for its roads so I find it funny when we share pictures of tall buildings under construction, recently developed universities, highways or the ring road showing how good Lahore is. This is today's Lahore which is under construction and has no significance to the popularity of Zinda dil Lahore.

Lahore was famous for its rich culture, people, architecture, food and thousands of parks. I think even 200 years old building would describe the beauty of Lahore better than recently built 50 floors apartments. So guyz if you want to share pictures of developing Lahore, please also share the pictures of real Lahore... You are showing new Lahore which is yet to find fame anywhere in the world.

I totally agree Zakii - real Lahore is not about tall buildings and roads but it's people and diverse culture. Ah those good old days, breakfast with friends Nihari or Halwa puri, cricket in the mornings and bike rides with mates all night long.

anyway, on a serious note:

there are alot of people who have purchased properties inside the wall city, and with them they are bringing their culture as well...

I have serious reservations on the outsiders buying property inside the wall city... Its an issue for me, I feel like a minority in my own home... and I have to deal with alien behaviours all day long, which in return effects my own behavioural traits...

as GT road trade would open again from central Asia to south India in one or two decades, Lahore without a second thought would become a cosmopolitan city, and where Lahore or Lahori culture would be if property that should actually belong to Lahoris only, would be in hands of outsiders and alien cultures?

I already see building being built that are not with accordance to our culture and heritage...

where will that our little identity of Lahore go?? Vanish...!!
