36 FC20..

Thats a tiny order just 36 fighters and even then PAF will have to wait until 2014 by which time IAF will

1. inducted their entire order of SU30 MKI 230 planes

2. INDUCTED tanche 3 of the mki which includes IBRIS AESA radar and the KH172 ram jet BVR MISSLE

3. Have all of these data linked to at least 6 Phalcon AWACS BY THEN..

Every day i read your posts and i think that you really are some teenage fanboy.....

You keep mentioning things that are not even close to being reality and forget about all the other factors that have been discussed to death. you talk about things like.....6 phalcons when the follow-on order has STILL not emerged. You talk about the KH-172 when no one else is (there have even been reports that it does not exist by Russian companies)

You conveniently forgot The F-16's........BLk 2 Jf-17's plus a few other things that my emerge.....Now stop being a fan boy and grow up....

Go somewhere else with that crap, troll.
By 2014 PAF will have 150-200 upgraded JF-17 and 60-78 F-16AM/BM/C/D all data-linked to 4 Erieye AEWC INDUCTED.
InAF's "massive fleet" of flankers would probably get crushed even without the 4 KJ-200/ZDK03 AEWC, ~100 Mirage III/V ROSE (Retrofit Of Strike Element), ~100 F-7P and ~50 F-7PG.

So much for PAF losing air dominance.

36 FC-20 is just the initial order, according to sources they want 150 high tech fighters. With 60-78 F-16, they will take around 82-90 FC-20.

PAF already wanted AESA radars ever since they got the Grifo M3 slotted array radar in their ROSE upgraded Mirages, they are cheaper (life cycle cost), perform better and harder to detect. China is developing their own AESA radars, According to one report NRIET of China is developing an AESA just for the JF-17. PAF has already evaluated at least one European AESA radar.

It doesn't matter if InAF get 500 phalcon, PAF will still have 4 Erieye, 4 ZDK03 plus several P-3 AWACS.

After listing all this stuff, I just wish the government would develop the country and ensure all the people are fed before buying these expensive toys. JF-17 and air launched cruise missiles with nuclear warheads are enough to keep peace. If only PAF could buy or develop a proper government indigenously as well.

This whole article is more like a sales pitch for F-22 and how to help India achieve air dominance in its region.

Original plan was to procure a high number of F-22s and then later a decent number of F-35s, but due to lack of financial resources and WOT etc, demand for F-22 dropped.

Even though Lockheed Martin is the manufacturer for both jets, there is a considerable amount if push from sub-contractors to sale as many F-22s as possible.

It is very possible that suppliers for F-22 project were not selected for the JSF project and their losses are astronomical.

This is a superb example of how defence lobbies work in the US.

I also doubt that the US govt. would approve the sale of F-22 to IAF (if any Indian was reading a bit too much beteween the lines )

You've done it now, SSGPA1. maverick2009 will be here any moment telling us about India co-developing the FG-FA that will be on par with F-22 and inducted by 2015 while the 5th gen MCA will be on par with F-35 and inducted by 2020. Meanwhile China's J-XX will take years and PAF won't induct it until at least 2040!
