What's new

Look what a Pakistani man from KPK(NWFP) developed.

.
"Developed" or merely ASSEMBLED a kit?
its an assembled kit...Didn't the guy said his brother sent a special motor/engine especially designed for this kinda aircraft from Austria? Anyways its a good hobby...All in Europe and in US U can find such kits ,just assemble them and fly it over whereever U want....yea they give flying courses too...:smokin:

.
Let's see: He saw the movie thirty-three years ago, and the Asian record for highest flight was only 16,000 feet?

That story simply does not appear to be robust or credible. A mechanic made a replica kit plane that made it through a couple of flights. What's the big deal?

Roy has mentioned that the world record for the Ultralight trike is 24K, it does not seem implausible that the Asian record from a few years ago was 16K. Yes, he has bought some parts from Europe, & assembled them; but he was innovative & incorporated his own ideas into the overall design as well. So he did not 'simply assemble the whole thing'. As a poor man from KPK, it is safe to say that he has done on a limited budget what most people can't do, & that in itself is an achievement.

Thank you for confirming that. Kit planes are a GREAT hobby! :D

(but, not such a BFD either! ;) )

As a poor man from KPK, he should be spending his scant resources more wisely.

Both brothers were honoured by the State of Pakistan with the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, one of the highest decorations given to a civilian, for their feats.

Why was he given the "Highest" civilian award of pakistan? Its very strange.....i mean, ( no offence ), it isn't a huge achievement...its not even a big achievement to be honest. There are tons of guys flying assembled or self designed light aircrafts all over the world....even India btw. No one gives the "highest" civilian award for something like this....

I dont want to de-value the guy's achievement...but seriously?
