Longest expressway in PAK built by China Railway Group 20th Bureau Co. officially opened to traffic

Pakistan should thank nawaz shariff who had the foresight to involve Korean daewoo in the 90s to build Pakistan's first motorway.
But after 2 decades, why involve China in new highways. Using your own contractors, you can stimulate the local economy.
It took china 30 years to export high quality or build like one we just have or going to have soon insha'Allah back then Nawaz let korea to make kind of first highway so he can make money too. their stupid decision made us go to IMF over and over again anyways we are thankful to nawaz that he is behind the bars.

After driving on 401 Parkway, Pakistani highways feel like real highways, at least for the time being.

Oh wait till you get out of this small tip of Southern Ontario (from Toronto to Windsor), 401, 403, and 407 are the crown jewels of Canadian highways. The Trans Canada highway, for example, becomes as below as soon as you enter Ontario. Undivided two lanes. So good luck driving beyond Thunder Bay along lake Superior at night when the lake blows thick fog over the highway and you can't see anything, which btw happens every single night.

You won't call this a Motorway/Expressway in Pakistan.

Westwards through Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta it's two lanes divided and then in BC its a mixture of both.

True. I m not a fan of Canadian highways but if you drive down to US, their highways are very, very good. Canada compared to that network looks underdeveloped.

It really is.

The number of kilometres of Pakistan highways is too small to make a comparison with USA or other developed countries in Europe.

Not kilometers wise but from the little experience I have on US highways, quality and comfort wise I'd guess Pakistani Motorways and Expressways are neck and neck.

Years ago when I was younger and there were almost no speed cameras on motorways I drove in excess of 120mph [200kph] in a Vauxhal Senator 3.0. These cars were light and fast. The police used them as pursuit vehicles.

I began the 200 kph plus just north of Derby on the A38 and then continued on M1 north till Sheffield. It was evening and there was not much traffic. But I never ever did that stupidity again. At one point along the A38 the bend was a bit too much for the Senator and it began rolling into the barriers and as I let go of the gas the back began to roll out. Luckly for me I cleared the bend but later on reflection it hit me that if anything had slighly gone wrong, ever so slightly, the chances of surviving the catastrophe would be zero.

So, I agree with you. driving anything over 80 and you begin to place your life and others with fate. I am glad we have speed cameras today. That same section of motorway today has cameras watching, speed sensors, variable speed sensors that reduce everybody to 70 mph. Indeed I just put on the cruise control at 66 mph.

I think you misunderstood my post.
