LOL Iranians play Kabaddi now?

Played a lot of it in school. Any sport at a pro level is made to look good. Especially with the Indian trend of slickly packaged and internationalised and marketed pro
Leagues.

End of the day it's still way too much physical man on man contact for me .... which gets realweird more often than not.

Cheers, Doc
Oh i didnt know they are leagues now as well. Are pakistani players allowed to take part in the indian leagues?

Also looking at it for the first time im suprised to see people above saying how strong, quick and technically sound you have to be to play this. To me this sport was all about strength and wrestling technqiue, these players could learn alot from other sports coaching them especially how to drop your shoulder or do a shimmy to get away from the person/final defender stoping you from going to the line. even when they run their body shape is all wrong, these players would be so much more effective if they adopted techniques to create space or loose a marker from a sport like football.

Watching the first video i felt like shouting at the screen everytime the attacker was trying to run back to the home line, thinking you have done the hard work now all you have to do is do a shimmy and beat the last defender.

Note:
Shimmy: is a quick change of direction you are running in, you would fake a body movement to right and then run to the left side of the defender
Drop the shoulder: means dropping either side of your shoulder in a direction pretending you are about to run into that space and then doing at 180 turn and running on the opposite side.

2 of the most basic drills soccer players learn to create space and to get away from a defender.

Man I thought you were desi.

What is all this "shimmy" business?

I've forgotten all the traditional terms now ...

It's very technical no doubt, and the guys are built like pro boxers. I'm just not confortable about the contact man. I'm a guy hug guy tap back a couple of times and disengage guy. Or a solid dry handshake guy.

It's about speed mostly. You score a point after raiding the enemy camp by crossing over the line. The rest is showboating your strength to the enemy, and harassing them. Technical skills come when you either escape a clasp or when you try to subdue the raider.

My grandfather was a champion in this and even crossed the border and beat the indians a few times. All he did was slap his opponents to piss them off, then use his agility and speed to score points. No doubt, he was actually very strong, but the stronger guys try to use their muscles over brain.

Maula Jatt should have had a kickass kabaddi or bullock cart race sequence.

@Sully3 pro kabaddi league is the biggest blockbuster. Non stop on TV. And I don't think there are Pakistani players. Could be wrong. I don't follow it. Public though is quite mad.

I'm being an unapologetic old school homophobe.

Kabaddi is male grabass version of what girls in Maharashtra play .... Kho kho.

Cheers, Doc

I did too.

It gets weird. There is no way you control the catch.

To traditionally acceptable man on man contact aress. ...

Cheers, Doc
What's gay about contact in sports? It makes you gay for thinking about it in such a manner. No offense,

.
Dude are you really calling them gay.. Are you scared they will eff you up?

No. I'm just not comfortable with male grabass.

I have a very heightened sense of personal space. Be it at airports, or rustic eating joints with great food, where you often need to share a table.

I need my space.

4 guys grabbing my *** and groin and balls with their *** oor groin and balls cms from my face or smashed into it is not my idea of personal space.

Cheers, Doc
