Now foreign vendors can choose their Indian industrial partners, we know HAL wouldnt be picked.
"Do you think the recent US offer for the production of F 16 and F/A 18 fighters in India are viable? Neither aircraft could win the (air force's) medium multirole combat aircraft ( MMRCA) competition. So I really don't know. It is not very attractive and I sincerely don't know how serious they are. The F 16 production has stopped and I am sure a parallel line for the F/A 18 won't be worth it. There are reports that the fighters are being considered as we may have a gap of 200 ai .. "
No Rafale, No F/16, No F/18
So Tejas on a Truck?
Good bit of news is
With sufficient private sector participation Tejas production rate can be upped from 16 ---> 25
80% of plane is imported?Considering that 80% of the plane is imported that is very dismayal projection for an assembly project
Both critical component of engine and radar are imported.80% of plane is imported?
As of official figures, it's 35-40%. So, I would love to know base of your claim.
Both critical component of engine and radar are imported.
Sorry to disappoint you, half of Chinese combat aircraft engine are domestic made. JH-7A turbofan is home made WS-9A. Z-10 gunship using WZ-9 turboshaft. Y-9 transport aircraft using WZ-6 turboshaft. Z-9 gunship and transport uses WZ-8 turboshaft. As far engines are concerned, all Chinese planes have imported engines.
And radar on Tejas is a joint venture between Elta and HAL to be manufactured in India.
Sorry to disappoint you, half of Chinese combat aircraft engine are domestic made. JH-7A turbofan is home made WS-9A. J-11A series aircraft running on WS-10A engine.
Everybody know joint venture is basically an assemble job with key component of advance chips still need to be import from Israel. Key technology cannot be bought with money. Our radar is 100% made in China and fully manufacture by us.
RD-93 engines is medium engine. WS-10A are heavy weight engine for our J-11 fighter. Both different class of engine. It just like saying orange and Apple are the same.If the engines were any good PAF JF-17 would not running on Russian RD-93 jet engines
You still relies on Russian engine, as your engine only last for 100 hrs, so your engines is their only for photo ops .RD-93 engines is medium engine. WS-10A are heavy weight engine for our J-11 fighter. Both different class of engine. It just like saying orange and Apple are the same.
JF-17 is a project not endorsed by PLAAF. Low priority is given to make a domestic engine for it. Plus, China - Russian R/S is all time high, no danger of cutting off supply. China is the guarantor of the project.
lol, you also started JF-17 Sq with testing planes, also which cant even drops bombs., so much of hiding, now you are finding out how to include the bomb dropping capability. They made a squadron with two planes...in real life..typical indian argument tactics are to keep speaking..and not give opponent a chance to make a factual presentation..then after everyone is tired of your blabbering...declare victory!
