Local Muslims Outraged By Card Depicting Muslim Girl Doll Terrorist

CHICAGO (CBS) — A Muslim doll as a terrorist. That’s what’s on a birthday card that has upset the head of a local chapter of a civil rights group, reports WBBM’s Nancy Harty.

The front of the card features a picture of a doll wearing a hijab — the Muslim headscarf — and the message “She’ll love you to death! She’ll blow your brains out!” Inside, the card reads, “Hope your birthday is a blow out!”

Ahmed Rehab, Executive Director of the Chicago chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations, calls it moronic and says it feeds stereotypes.

“The woman in Massachusetts just two weeks ago that was punched while walking her kids for no other reason than wearing a hijab on her head, was because someone thought that because she wears it, she is a terrorist,” said Rehab.

Rehab says he has heard from plenty of people who are outraged by the card, a card that calls “stupid and moronic.”

The card is made by a New Jersey company that has the slogan ‘dare to laugh’.

It was being sold at “He Who Eats Mud,” a stationery store in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood, until it sold out, according to the owner.

Defending his decision to carry the card, he says it’s a free society and he’s not saying whether he’ll reorder.

Most outrageous part of this whole story is that, majority of them never denounces those bombings in non-Islamic countries by not holding protests and marches ..They chooses to keep mum thereby indicating that they are not against those inhuman bombings.
