AZAD KASHMIR: Two students were injured during unprovoked shelling by the Indian army near Batal sector, Line of Control (LoC) on Wednesday, Express News reported.
The injured were taken to a local hospital for medical aid. The number of injured is feared to increase.
Reportedly, the shelling began at 10:20am today.
The LoC that separates Kashmir has been subject to a ceasefire agreed by the nuclear-armed neighbours since 2003, offering a semblance of security to the hamlets that *** the snow-capped, mountainous terrain.
Periodic violations and cross-border shelling are a constant menace, with the most recent one occurring in early June allegedly from the Pakistani side. Islamabad has denied the charges.
