A spokesperson for U.S. defense secretary, John Kirby, said Lloyd Austin called on Bajwa to Target militant hideouts inside Pakistan.

Kirby said the main reason for the war in Afghanistan is the Taliban hideouts inside Pakistan-controlled areas, which must be targeted and destroyed.

"We are mindful that those safe havens are only providing a source of more insecurity and more instability inside Afghanistan. We are not bashful about having that discussion with Pakistani leaders," John Kirby said.

Kirby said the safe havens are a threat not only to Afghanistan but also to Pakistan.

"We are also mindful that Pakistan and the Pakistani people also fall victim to terrorist activities that emanate from that region. So, we all have a shared sense of the importance of closing down those safe havens and not allowing them to be used by the Taliban or other terrorist networks to sow discord," Kirby added.

Earlier, the Afghan president had also accused Pakistan of sending 10,000 fighters to Afghanistan from the Durand Line, fighting alongside the Taliban against Afghan Security Forces.

However, Pakistani officials refused these accusations and considering them groundless.

For years, however, Afghanistan's neighbor Pakistan has been accused of harboring the Taliban and other militant groups on its soil.

But this is the first time that the U.S. directly called on Pakistan to destroy Taliban hideouts inside their soil.

. .
So to assist Pakistan in targeting those militants, you have stopped the sale of AH1Zs and continue to block the sale of Turkish helicopters. You continue to place Pakistan is grey list causing more damage to Pakistan economy and due to budget constraint we cannot provide the much needed investment for capacity buildup.

Who is this idiot. Loser who lost the war with having best might

American duplicity is confounding as at one hand you made a deal with Taliban and now you want Pakistan to attack Taliban. US was given free hand by allowing drones attack to target any militant and all kind of militants even Inside Pakistan but they killed our soldiers in Salala and never apologized for it.

Incorrect. The incident was triggered by fire originating from very close to the post, and USA apologized and made amends for the Pakistani losses.

What a fkn clown. Excuse my language.

Mf lost the war and left in the night and soon after his exit those he was fighting for 20 years with 2 Trillian $, took over 80 percent of Afghanistan. And he have some b face to talk about Pakistan and dictate.

The totalitarian govt of Biden administration really think they can dictate to the world just like they are violating American Supreme courts rulings and imposing their regulations which clearly violate American constitution.

I watched this briefing by Pentagon Spox John Kirby that this news is trying to quote. The heading is twisted to be honest. All text is part of what John Kirby did say but also mentioned clearly and categorically that Pakistanis have suffered from this war on terror and only mentioned that there are safe havens along the border.
The call between the SecDef and COAS was after the briefing by John Kirby. There is no way these can be interlinked.

So this Shamshad guy is trying it gain some viewer / readership and is utter false reporting in my opinion. Fellow members should disregard this new post post.
