Israeli forces detain 17 Palestinains overnight from West Bank, East Jerusalem

BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained at least 17 Palestinians overnight between Monday and Tuesday in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, according to Palestinian and Israeli sources.

In the northern West Bank district of Nablus, locals told Ma’an that Israeli forces detained former prisoner Saleh Amer from the town of Kafr Qalil, and brothers Baraa and Mahmoud Ali Assideh from the Tel village.

Meanwhile, locals in Tel and a nearby village told Ma’an that Israeli forces briefly held several former prisoners for interrogation in the area.

In occupied East Jerusalem, Israeli forces detained five Palestinians, according to locals.

In the Shufat Refugee camp, Israeli forces detained three Palestinians. They were identified as Nizar Muhammad Ali, Ammar Abu al-Saad, and Zaki Muhammad Ali.

Another resident of the camp, identified as Ahmad al-Rajabi, was detained by israeli forces while he was walking on Salah al-Din Street near the Old City late Monday night.

Also on Monday night, Israeli forces detained Moussa Jamal Qadamani after shooting and injuring him with live fire during clashes in the al-Suwwana neighborhood of East Jerusalem. Qadamani was taken to the Shaare Zedek Medical Center.

In the southern West Bank city of Bethlehem, Israeli forces detained one Palestinian Ahmad Abed al-Salam Zaoul.

It is done by small groups and some have done damage. The Gaza-Israel border hasn't been 100% stable ever since the Israeli air strikes on a tunnel that killed 14 PIJ members. Nevertheless it's small tit for tat and so far will not escalate into anything major.

4 Palestinians killed by Israeli forces in clashes over Trump decision on Jerusalem

BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) -- Four Palestinians have been declared dead by the Palestinian Health Ministry in the West Bank and Gaza, after a day of violent clashes with Israeli forces on Friday across the occupied West Bank, East Jerusalem, and besieged Gaza Strip.

The ministry reported that 18-year-old Muhammad Amin Aqel al-Adam succumbed to his wounds on Friday evening after he was shot multiple times by Israeli forces in the central West Bank town of al-Bireh, after an alleged stabbing attempt against soldiers.

Al-Adam was a resident of the town of Beit Ula in the western Hebron district of the southern West Bank

In the Jerusalem area town of Anata, in the central West Bank, 29-year-old Bassel Mustafa Muhammad Ibrahim succumbed to his wounds shortly after being shot in the chest by Israeli forces during clashes in the town.

In the Gaza Strip, Israeli forces killed two Palestinians and injured hundreds others during clashes that broke out along the border between the besieged coastal enclave and Israel.

Yassir Sokhar, 31, a resident of the al-Shujaiyya neighborhood of eastern Gaza City was shot during clashes and declared dead by the ministry of health in Gaza.

The fourth slain Palestinian was identified by the ministry as Ibrahim Abu Thurayya, 29, who was shot in the head during clashes.

Thousands march in funeral of disabled Palestinian killed by Israeli forces in Gaza

GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Thousands of Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip marched on Saturday in the funeral of slain Palestinian Ibrahim Abu Thurayya, 29, who was shot in the head and killed by Israeli forces on Friday during clashes along the border with Israel.

Abu Thurayya was a well-known Palestinian activists, famously known for consistently protesting the Israeli occupation, despite losing both his leds in an Israeli airstrike in 2008. After he was disabled by Israeli in 2008, Abu Thurayya worked washing cars in Gaza to support hi 11-member family.

Tributes to Abu Thurayya popped up across social media after his death, as Palestinians widely circulated a video of him calling on everyone to protest against US President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, just days before he was killed.

Following his funeral on Saturday, Abu Thurayya’s mother said that he “had always been brave facing the occupation, even after he lost both of his legs, he would go raise the Palestinian flag on the borders.”

Abu Thurayya was one of for Palestinians -- two from the West Bank and two from Gaza -- who were shot dead by Israeli forces on Friday during clashes over Trump’s decision.

Friday’s events brought the death toll over the past week to 10 -- six Palestinians had previously been killed by Israeli forces over the past week, four in airstrikes and two in clashes.

29-year-old Palestinian shot dead by Israeli forces laid to rest in Anata

RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Hundreds of Palestinians marched on Saturday in the funeral of 29-year-old Bassel Mustafa Ibrahim, who was shot and killed by Israeli forces on Friday during clashes in his hometown of Anata, a village in the central occupied West Bank district of Jerusalem.

Ibrahim was shot in the chest during clashes that had erupted following protests against US President Donald Trump’s decision last week to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. He later succumbed to his wounds at the hospital.

The funeral set off from Ibrahim’s house in Anata and went through the streets of the village, before heading to the Anata mosque and finally to the village’s cemetery, as mourners chanted slogans in support of the Al-Aqsa most and Jerusalem.

According to Ma’an News Agency, protesters threw stones at Israeli soldiers, who fired rubber-coated steel bullets and tear gas canisters in response.

Hundreds of Palestinians organized rallies in several cities in the West Bank, including Ariha (Jericho), Bethlehem and al-Khalil (Hebron) after prayers, according to media reports.

The status of Jerusalem is one of the key issues in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The Israelis occupied the eastern part of the city during the 1967 war. They insist that Jerusalem is the "single and indivisible" capital of Israel. In turn, the Palestinians want to make the eastern part of the city the capital of their state.

Please refer to this thread and not the ones Bwharna is opening. He is posting misleading information without context even after I requested to keep all updates in this thread. That guy claims to be pro-Palestinian, I don't believe him. He is just uploading late news from Almasdar news and pretending like he has information first hand, he doesn't, don't take him seriously. A rocket not 'missile' was fired in response to 5 critical injuries, and 99 light to moderate ones in Gaza and West Bank today. And also due to repeated incursions into Palestinian territory which official Palestinian source is reporting.

Envoy says US Jews of all streams owe Trump ‘enormous debt of gratitude’ for Jerusalem move.

Some of the Palestinian rhetoric in response to President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem has been “ugly, needlessly provocative and antisemitic,” US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman told The Jerusalem Post this week.

Friedman, a leading force behind Trump’s decision three weeks ago to recognize Jerusalem and move the US embassy there from Tel Aviv, characterized the Palestinian reaction as “largely emotional,” saying they “unfortunately overreacted” because Trump made clear that the US was “not taking a position on any final-status issues, including the specific boundaries of the Israeli sovereignty in Jerusalem.”

In light of the Palestinians now rejecting any US role in the peace process, Friedman said there will be no process without Washington’s involvement.

“There is no path around the United States,” he said. “Israel has made it clear that they will not engage under the sponsorship of any other nation. You cannot clap with one hand. Moreover, only the United States has the regional credibility to bring forward a historic peace agreement.”

The president’s Jerusalem steps – as well as the partial shutdown of the PLO mission in Washington, and the Taylor Force Act that, if it passes the Senate, will cut US funding to the PA if it continues paying wages to the families of terrorists – reflects the will of the American people as reflected in US laws, Friedman noted.

“We are a nation of laws – and those laws exist to reflect important government policies,” he said. “There is absolutely no reason why the Palestinians cannot comply with these laws and, if they do, the peace process will be greatly advanced.”

Regarding whether Trump should or could expect a domestic diplomatic bounce from US Jews – a constituency that voted overwhelmingly against him in 2016, Friedman said: “I firmly believe that American Jews of all streams owe the president an enormous debt of gratitude for his historic decision in favor of Jerusalem. While the president didn’t reach his decision in order to curry favor with any constituency, he certainly deserves all the thanks that he has received.”

Trump, Friedman said, will go down in history “as one of Israel’s greatest friends,” and “we must all recognize and applaud the courage and moral clarity displayed by the president in affirming, against the wishes of so many other nations, the centrality of Jerusalem to Israel and the Jewish people.”
