could have???? you are still assuming things. Fact is India did not buzz from its stand right from the beginning. The existing judgement is only an approval of India's stand. The only blood money i hear is that in Uphar Cinema case where Ansals were let off for a sum of Rs.60 cr.
You may have personal political preference but that does not mean you should ignore the facts and assume things.

That is why the Tribunal asked for a confirmation by Sept from both Govts. UN laws are supreme if both Countries give an undertaking before the start of the proceedings that they will abide with this. There are no unilateral court proceedings in the UN. If you read up the case the Supreme Court of India is only involved in extending the bail of the Italian Marine who has gone abroad for medical treatment and was due to return next week. Supreme Court of India will just postpone the hearing on the next date. The International Tribunal refused to order the Indian govt to release the second marine immediately as demanded by Italy.
