Live: Imran Khan Addressing to The Council of Foreign Relations

Great job. Haas is a tough character and CFR is a tough crowd and he handled it well. He turned around the toughest question (China Uigher) on the crowd and Haas about cricket. There are few leaders who have the guts to put their neck on the line like he does. HATED the pacifist answer, other than that he did well.

Why think tanks repeat same questions in discussion with every Pakistani official? Imran should have asked him (anchor) to bring new question instead of ranting about Taliban, AlQaeeda etc or better talk about Kashmir.

Imran Khan was underprepped but the hostile questioning and the thinktank making sure no discussion is made on Kashmir or India, made this a terrible engagement. US thinktanks have their own agendas silly for him to be put in this without any homework.

Council on Foreign Relations made a very hostile thinktank, and they completely tried to reverse the narrative on Pakistan, China and afghanistan. Not happy with Imran Khan's stupid team scheduling with thinktanks without homework and bastards like Richard Haas.

Their is a reason Indian Govt. disallows their chaiwala Prime Minister from aattending with thinktanks. Even if their Foreign Ministry official goes they are briefed and know what they would be responding to. PAkistani ch*tiya foreign office and diplomats schedule with thinktanks without any preparation.

I would see this as an opportunity lost on Imran Khan's mission Kashmir. Thinktank did not address the curfew issue AT ALL. Richard Haas is a known bastard Pakistani ch*tiya diplomats need to do their homeword and plan engagements carefully to support Pak's interests.

You cant have everything in a single bite.

You cant have everything in a single bite.

Then you better have stage managed programs when you are facing a war-like situation where millions are being successfully cut off from the world while US thinktanks are trying to divert the narrative. Pakistanis and other people of Houston did more yesterday than this engagement.

Pakistani Diplomats are pathetic, it shows they don't prepare well. Instead of this Imran Khan could've participated in a kashmir study group or other forums. These thinktanks and journos would've fall over themselves to go there.

Its important for Pakistan to keep the Kashmir issue supreme or else letting thinktank like CFR change the whole premise is going to only hurt our cause.

Yes there was various instances where he slipped.
He should have mentioned that the youth of IOK will strike back and Pak will be blamed.
On Afg issue for those who were pushing for military action against talibans he should have mentioned the recent strike in which civillians were killed which strenghtens the talibans.

But you can't blame him.He has a lot on his mind. There are still many meetings left.

Not blaming Imran Khan he was put in a hostile environment in Council of Foreign Relations. My issue is with diplomatic error and ill decision to allow a head of state towards more confrontational thinktank. In overall designed interview Imran Khan managed to push in the situation of Kashmir and RSS [without naming it], the host Richard Haas did not allow Imran to speak at length on Kashmir. Did not allow him to add further. Incredible there was no question on Kashmir and when Imran Khan tried to discuss it there was no follow up question, Haas immediately changed the topis. Felt like Indians managed the questions and it was reflected in the audience questions as well. The session was designed to try to counter Pakistan narrative on Kashmir and put Pakistan on backfoot.

Imran Khan is not a visiting dignitary anymore he is a head of state who has to push Kashmir dispute. CFR session undermined Paksitan's effort. Hope these ch/*ya diplomats who work for US friends more than Pak interests plan better. CFR should not get a session with a PAkistani govt. high official next time. Bad publicity for us and helpful for them to abet Indian interests.

Did we not?

That is a hard fact, its better to put a timeline on it with other collaborators (USA) rather than deny it and be labeled a liar.

Another gem from Imran Khan - "we trained Al Queda".

West has a new boogeyman and its China. Now they will only talk about China. For them Kashmir can go to hell. All we can do is push Kashmir issue through media and make the senators and congress take it on. But even that won't be enough because US deep state requires India to counter China.

its true we did it. Not our proudest moment, but fact remains we did that.

what you suggest is totally doable but UNGA is in US on in Karachi. such rhetoric will eventually play against us.
As much as people like to say "they matter", they don't, govt matter. And bureaucracy likes chain of command and since we are poor we have to win bureaucrat.

Bhai ji - MI6 trained OBL and his cohorts in Scotland. This are the words of a former SAS man.

We trained a lot of people, some of them might have been Al Queda, but you won't see the British PM or the American President talking about their role in arming and training these people. I just think he should be a little more careful with language.

OBL is created for britain by the MI6. true thats why the shut up about it. totally respect that
we didn't create al qaida we trained them on bidding of US, what we did is below us. we took the money to train jihadi to fight someone elses war from our front.

It wasn't someone else's war. You can't stay away when there is a war going on next to you.Soviets were pushing in Pakistan and their relationship with India was also something to be taken into context. That's why we had to go to US.

This interview is like watching Shahid Afridi bat.

6 . . 4 . W

One minute absolutely wonderful, full of grace and passion - the next full foot in mouth.
Then you have no idea what soever...getwell soon
