Live! IAF Mirage crashes in MP, pilots eject safely

Good that pilots are safe, the Mirage 2000 has an impeccable safety record- these things just happen sometimes.
its ok if it happen sometimes but when it comes to IaF...its manytimes we are talking about

In Aug 2011 we lost Jaguar
In Oct 2011 we lost Mig 29
In Dec 2011 we lost Su 30Mki
In Feb 2012 we lost Miraage 2000

What NXT in April 2012 huh...

.
We are inducting 10 to 15 new fighters per year ..we are loosing almost 50% of that per year ..for a tender of 120 fighters we took almost a decade ..

Hope in future we act fast

I truly don't understand what you are stating. HAL is now delivering about 20-24 MKIs per year and when Rafale production starts HAL will (after first SQD is delivered directly from Dassualt)have to produce 24+ Rafales per year under their contractual obligations- such was a clause in the MMRCA program so Dassualt will strive ot make this a possibility as will HAL or otherwise they will be hit by HUGE fines. Also there is talking of increasing both Rafales and MKI production rates as additional production lines are more than likely, HAL has already stated this and the facilities are being designed.

Hi,

What about the upgrade programs? As the aircraft numbers reduce how are the terms renegotiated?

IAF should improve its maintenance ability, but it's quite difficult to maintain so many types of jets at the same time.

Plane can crash due to many counts and at any sec one IAF Flightier plane was always in air, they keep on practice things like ultra low flying things etc and sometimes any faction of sec error cause fatal.

They better not to do stunt performance for saving taxpayers money.

Looks like it is very easy to buy 126+ planes for us but tough to maintain one.
God help us, the way things are going a the moment we will never touch the 40 sqadren mark.

Don't get sensational 1 crash in ~30 years after 10,000s of flight hours is truly, truly remarkable and a feat that would be the envy of any AF. The M2Ks have been noted for their ease of maintenance due to the modular structure (which is taken to a whole new level in Rafale) and have performed remarkably in IAF colours. One can never rule out freak accident or pilot error. Look at USAF and RuAF if you want to see truly (scarily) remarkable crash record.

Of courese MiGs are a different story in IAF, that is truly maintenance faults.

His sensational is very understandable, cause taxpaer lose their investment by incident.

Glad pilots are safe

( Can we have a single Sticky thread for all India crashes???? )

This is embarrassing. But Mirages have an enviable record. And the Su-30 series also have a very good record on par with F-16s. Simply because all these aircraft are within their work life span. The crashes happen to oldest jets more because they are way over their service life.
