Lithuania, UK, Denmark and Estonia call for EU plan against Russian propaganda

Loads loads of total nonsense. But of course you are free to live in your alternative reality.Meantime people will keep leaving the Baltic. They cant produce anything of value.Everything they had was from time of USSR and had the same fate as manufacturing here in Bulgaria-destroyed by orders.Since you apperantly have no idea let me tell you-they are ones of poorest in EU despite being members for years.Cheap labour and market for western firms-these are things they can offer. One of them recently became "energy independent" from Russia...by importing gas at price 100 plus USD more than Gazprom gas.Congratulation - prices of everything connected with gas will increase.Recently one of them adopted euro-congratulation now prices of everything will go up and salaries will stay the same.Another loss for them- 2 more of yearly festival left them(bye bye another tens of millions euros). Number of Russian tourists who visit them are down-more money lost.Being competitive and their economy -nothing to do with each other.EU is so eager to help them-did not compensate their losses from agriculture ban done by Russia.EU is eager to help-did not lost anytime and force one of them to close its nuclear power plant. An yeah lots of people from Baltic actually are working in the same country they hate so much - Russia.TV channel to "counter" Russian propaganda and manual what to do in case of Russian invasion -with such things they are busy not actual development of economy.
In short-you have no idea what you are talking

Why you think that Baltic countries will not invest and get help from industralized EU nations ?Why you think that they will not use thier manpower for all this ? Mostly its the EU countries firm which are investing in baltic countries and ofcourse if United states and Canada will open up creditline for them on less interest then any country will let such investment in all the sectors.

Adopting Euro was to intregrate the economy with other EU countries which will ofcourse will increasing not only the living standard but even production which eventually increase production units as well as jobs and salaries.and regarding Agirculture sector , i think this will let for more money from EU funds for farmers etc and already such policies have been adopted in Germany.

No one hate the countries they live in because all those are aware that they living standards have increased after joining EU and they think it will make things more better for them.

interesting news for you.

President Grybauskaitė in Davos: Major global companies show interest in Lithuania - EN.DELFI

According to Grybauskaitė, Google is interested in investment opportunities and would like to open an office in Vilnius. Nasdaq is also planning to open its centre in Lithuania.

The president said that everyone is showing interest and is seeking to meet. According to her, additional tasks will probably take much time and energy but will be more fruitful and important than direct talks in one of discussion forums.

As reported, on Wednesday, 21 January, Grybauskaitė is participating in the World Economic Forum in Davos as one of the keynote speakers at the debate on the effect of geo-economics on energy.

"Lithuania could be an example of how a country can introduce the euro as its currency after having gone through these difficulties and as an example of how a country can move with big steps toward greater energy independence from Russia," he said.

Grybauskaitė on Wednesday gave a speech during a debate on the effect of geo-economics on energy and is to take part in a round-table discussion with energy companies' top executives, influential experts and analysts.

This is Grybauskaitė's first time in Davos. Her predecessor, Valdas Adamkus, attended the forum in the Swiss ski resort in 2001, 2008 and 2009.

Putin's strategic designs in that region are the new phase of realpolitiks, and no one can deny his nostalgic ambitions. NATO leaders are very well aware of future course of emerging strategic monster aka Russia and there is nothing they can do about it. The situation is much more volatile and rampant for European leaders and the only thing they can do at this stage is to hide its seriousness from their people or else they would suffer political blows in their respective constituencies. So, everyone, chill out and watch the game!

i think Russian Federation is more interested in Arctic region reserves and most of the Russian federation money is going in modernazing its armed forces and it will take years for Russian Federation to do all that.

Lithuania expects to open OECD accession talks this year - EN.DELFI
Thursday, January 22, 2015

Lithuania expects to receive an invitation to open accession negotiations with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) this year , the Lithuanian president's press office said on Thursday.

"(OECD membership) will not only boost Lithuania's international standing, but will also bring substantial benefits to our economy and people. Lithuania will become more attractive for foreign investors, improve its credit ratings and borrowing costs," President Dalia Grybauskaitė said in a press release after meeting with Angel Gurria, secretary-general of the organization, in Davos.

Grybauskaitė is attending the World Economic Forum in the Swiss ski resort.

A decision on opening talks with Lithuania is likely to be taken in June after assessing the country's homework and implementation of its membership action plan, according to the press release.

Lithuania is already an active participant of OECD committees and work groups. The country also contributes to the organization's support to Ukraine.
