Lithuania, UK, Denmark and Estonia call for EU plan against Russian propaganda - EN.DELFI
Friday, January 9, 2015

Lithuania, Great Britain, Denmark and Estonia have turned to the European Commission with a call to work out an action plan for fighting the Russian propaganda campaign, shows a copy of the letter obtained by BNS.

Four foreign ministers warned that "Russia is rapidly increasing its disinformation and propaganda campaign," which seeks to secure support to "political and military aims of the Russian government".

In a letter to the EU's foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini, the ministers called for "credible and competitive information alternatives for Russian-speaking populations and those using Russia's state-controlled media".

They suggested that Russian propaganda should be discussed at the meeting of EU ministers early in 2015 and invited European External Action Service to work out an action plan for 2015-2016.

The letter was signed by the foreign ministers of Lithuania, Great Britain, Denmark and Estonia, namely, Linas Linkevičius, Philip Hammond, Martin Lidegaard and Keit Pentus-Rosimannus.

Linkevičius, the Lithuanian diplomacy chief behind the initiative, told BNS on Friday that the ministers "do not propose censorship or bans, they only want conditions for truly impartial, free and alternative sources of information".

In his words, Russia is earmarking billions to the state-controlled media, therefore, "the society's immunity to manipulations should be a major concern".

"I would want more attention not just in words, but also in specific actions to the conditions that would allow people to get alternative, free and impartial information. It should in no way be controlled by other “correct” administrations, as this would not be free information," said the minister.

In the letter to Brussels, the four diplomats called for a platform that would provide information about the propaganda lies and manipulations, support initiatives to create Russian-language television channels, Internet portals, radios and press, encourage exchange of production within the EU and propose the production to the existing Russian media.

The ministers also said that the EU should pay more attention to impartial provision of information and transparency of interests, as well as prevent instigation of hatred, violence and war propaganda. To achieve this, the four chief diplomats suggested encouraging closer cooperation among EU media regulatory authorities.

Lithuania :P Beautiful girls thats all I can say .....
Estonians are prettiest in Baltic states.

Poland, Lithuania, UK, Denmark and Estonia oppose the Russian invasion and occupation of lands belonging to Georgia and Ukraine and threats to other countries. Italy and Germany have strong economic ties with Russia and dont want more sanctions. Greece and Cyprus are very pro-Russian and ready to veto any more sanctions against Russia. Putin is very wily KGB operative who knows how to charm, threaten, manipulate and create divisions in EU to achieve his aims. Putin ordered FSB Russian secret service to plant bombs Russian apartment there were a series of explosions that hit four apartment blocks in the Russian cities of Buynaksk, Moscow and Volgodonsk in September 1999, killing 293 and injuring 651 people and spreading a wave of fear across the country. Putin blamed Chechen and started reign or terror that kiled 25% Chechen population. The bombings, together with the Dagestan War, led the country into the Second Chechen War.

First of all, Abkhazia and South Ossetia have full right to be independent countries. They don't speak Georgian. They speak Abkhaz and Ossetian. It was the Communists who assigned Abkhazia and South Ossetia to Georgia when Georgia was part of the USSR and that was a mistake. Likewise, Crimea had no business being part of Ukraine.

This is so reach coming from master of lies and propaganda UK .And those 2 Baltic "tigers" are just deeply hurt in their collective backside. They suffered big damages from ban of their useless agriculture products to Russia. And in this year they will suffer even much bigger damages-entire Russian cargo traffic is being moved to Russia.Russian companies not gonna use anymore questionable services of the Baltic "tigers".

This is good opportunity for Baltic states grow agriculture products that have higher demands in EU. The sanctions will reorient their trade to European Union from the dependence of Russia.

Keep dreaming.Baltic states will not be allowed to take a even a single percent from the market in EU.They lost from ban of agriculture products and received no real compensation in any kind and shape apart from sweet words. All Russian cargo is moving away from Baltic states.Just for one example how important is the cargo for them - in one of them Russian cargo occupies up to 75% from entire railroad traffic.EU will not even move a finger to help them neither any of the Baltic states have actual capabilities to do anything. They will lost traffic, money, jobs, companies will go to dust. And Baltic citizens in even greater numbers than now will go and look for a work in EU.

.
Nonetheless, the Baltic states wins in integrating with EU and decreasing reliance on Russia.

Wins how exactly? Why not check what they have as manufacturing before and after joining glorious EU for example ?And who win?Politicians or those who have to go abroad in order to find a job?Or pensioners maybe? Why not check a recent statement of one of their ministers of health(a monster actually) concering pensioners and their unability to afford medicine?Basically translated -Let them die!Do your homework and come back.
Meanwhile one of the Baltic "tigers" has said goodbye to another 15-20 millions of euros/yearly.After never-ending constant Russophobic statements leaders of music festival "New Wave" have had enough and festival location is moving to Russia. But I`m sure EU will help in this case too...with sweet sweet words.

These Lithuanian, Estonian, British saints switched only CNN & BBC since couple of weeks for free & fair media information.

Baltic states are aware what they are doing and they will work for an integrated market in which there will invest within their countries and create not only jobs but even increase the living standards. Baltic states will first increasing the production and keep their products prices lesser compare to other EU and non Eu markets , this will make place for their products.

If the investment is done within their countries and number of productions units will be increased then they will be within their countries and here they can utilize their manpower which have been specialist in other EU countries for years.

Loads loads of total nonsense. But of course you are free to live in your alternative reality.Meantime people will keep leaving the Baltic. They cant produce anything of value.Everything they had was from time of USSR and had the same fate as manufacturing here in Bulgaria-destroyed by orders.Since you apperantly have no idea let me tell you-they are ones of poorest in EU despite being members for years.Cheap labour and market for western firms-these are things they can offer. One of them recently became "energy independent" from Russia...by importing gas at price 100 plus USD more than Gazprom gas.Congratulation - prices of everything connected with gas will increase.Recently one of them adopted euro-congratulation now prices of everything will go up and salaries will stay the same.Another loss for them- 2 more of yearly festival left them(bye bye another tens of millions euros). Number of Russian tourists who visit them are down-more money lost.Being competitive and their economy -nothing to do with each other.EU is so eager to help them-did not compensate their losses from agriculture ban done by Russia.EU is eager to help-did not lost anytime and force one of them to close its nuclear power plant. An yeah lots of people from Baltic actually are working in the same country they hate so much - Russia.TV channel to "counter" Russian propaganda and manual what to do in case of Russian invasion -with such things they are busy not actual development of economy.
In short-you have no idea what you are talking

Putin's strategic designs in that region are the new phase of realpolitiks, and no one can deny his nostalgic ambitions. NATO leaders are very well aware of future course of emerging strategic monster aka Russia and there is nothing they can do about it. The situation is much more volatile and rampant for European leaders and the only thing they can do at this stage is to hide its seriousness from their people or else they would suffer political blows in their respective constituencies. So, everyone, chill out and watch the game!
