private sector has Sunday and few important national holidays

Govt employee is like a servant. They can call you on sunday and they can even call you any time in 24 hours.

Right, Thik 10 baje Unka coat Chair per hota hai, unka helmet, tiffin box bhi table pe hota hai, lekin sahab ka pata nahin chalta. 11 baje thoda dikhte hain, phir 12 baje lunch keliye chal dete hain. 2-3 baje tak file kam karke 4-5 baje tak tea break aur chit chat karte hain. But you missed another 53 Saturdays for central Govt. (12 in case of my State Govt. as second Saturday). As I counted from Last year 53 Sunday + 12 second Saturday + 27 National Holiday + 1 Optional + 15 CL =108 days for State Govt.
For central Add 40 more. That will make it as 148 days and you may deduct 5-6 days from it as some of these holidays may fall on Sundays. I am not calculating Bandhs/Natural disasters.

Hamary govt me subha 8:15 tak office pohnchty han aur atay sath hi almarih dekhty han aur files nikalty han aur phr files pakar kar beth jaty han phr kabhi files pakar k seniors k pas to phr bad me juniors k pas aur apni almarih ki chabi gum ho gai to wakhri musibat. phr jab room sy nikalny lagty han to 10 bando ko bta k jana parta ha k is waja sy bahar ja rahy han aur silsila chalta rehta ha..

There are two types of govt. Workers. One who works other is who don't. One who works is a 24/7 worker

Then comes Sinhalese and Tamil new year, Usually nobody works for a week, Since people go back to their villages
