The Indian Air Force (IAF) on Monday inducted the first fleet of indigenously-built Light Combat Helicopter (LCH), which has been developed primarily for mountain warfare after a requirement for it was felt during the Kargil war in 1999.

Co development and co manufactured with France. The investment made during development means that technically India can put a hold on transfer of the engine to a 3rd party if required.

Co developed with france but fully made in India. Shati"s big brother HTSE 1200 is under last phase of trial. 1200 kw engine developed by HAL is under trial for quite some time.

It has rockets for ground attack, Mistral for A2A and there is a plan to induct helina/dhruvastra for anti tank role.
