They are both Turco-Mongols who speak Persian. They're related, sorry.

Humans are related to every living thing on earth by some degree, You and I and every other human beings share 60% common DNA even with a "Banana", does it make us "half-Banana" off course not as the connection is billions of years old.

Naya Pakistan = secular Pakistan... religion is secondary to this new govt

Why don't you make a thread if you feel this is the case? Let it be reminded that PMIK rose to power under slogan of creating a modern Madina state.

I was waiting for him to enter this thread. Our biggest worshipper of Ranjit Singh on this forum.

Ahmad Shah Baba Abdali was a genuine hero, May Allah swt bless him for ridding Punjab of these bandits and marauders.

We should build a statue of Aurangzeb Alamgir and put it in hazoori bagh.

Make sure it is visible to all visitors.

Tomb of Ranjit Singh, Tomb of Allama Iqbal, relics of Rasool and Ahlul Bayt, and Sultan Aurangzeb Alamgir’s Badshahi masjid are in the same area.

To ensure religious harmony, it should be equitable.

Then let's also build a tomb of hari krishna

He was a brutal dictator and a tyrant
Read a little about him

No, he was not... You probably are confusing him with Bhangis and other Sikh tyrants/marauders... Ranjit Singh was in fact invited by the Muslims of Lahore to rid them of Sikh tyrants.. He fought against Bhangis and defeated them. Ranjit Singh's rule, by all morals, was impartial, humanitarian and lenient towards all societies. He certainly not found it essential to punish even a single individual to decease, not even those who bid to assassinate him. Ranjit Singh freed Punjab from Afghan and Sikh marauders and dacoits.

If today Pakistan’s borders are where they are with Afghanistan, it is entirely because of one man; Hari Singh Nalwa of Gujranwala, the Commander in Chief of Ranjit Singh's army (composed of Punjabi Sikhs, Muslims and Hindus). Afghans and nationalist Pashtuns have never forgiven him (and Punjabis) for this 'crime'.

As for Jammu, you are partially right.

As per Islam, Ahmed Shah Abdali is going to heaven, and Ranjit is going to hell. This is indisputable and I would be surprised if even you tried to challenge it.

Ahmed Shah's crimes against humanity are too big to be forgiven,
But that's for Allah alone to decide/judge, not for humans like you or I

Denying and inventing history, what a combo!

Indeed it is .. And you have been trying to do it all along

Tough cookies, Islam is clear that all Muslims have all their sins eventually forgiven and get to go to Jannah. But the same cannot be said for people like Ranjit Singh who never were Muslim.....

And you have been trying to do it all along

Oh the irony!

Talking about Regional Politics Ranjit Singh was finally Some one who stood out from Punjab (Gujranwala) and put the Invading Afghan Hordes back in their Right Place and Killed them all the way to Kabul. Interestingly Afghans never attacked These Lands again after that. Same afghans that had destroyed Mughal Power by sacking Delhi and caused the rise of Marathas in the south and Sikhs in Punjab. Those looters deserved no less than Ranjit Singh.
His Way of Rule is however an entire different subject to debate.
As for Politically corrected Pakistani Brothers and Sisters who Keep Owning Afghan Warlords. Afghans Still consider those wars as Punjab Afghan war and Hate us with same fervor even today without discrimination of religion knowing very well their are no Sikhs here anymore.
We have a very bad problem of owning and disowning Wrong and Right People Respectively with weird reasons.

Very true

Tough cookies, Islam is clear that all Muslims have all their sins eventually forgiven and get to go to Jannah. But the same cannot be said for people like Ranjit Singh who never were Muslim.....

This idea has absolutely no support from the Holy Qur'an... But let's not derail this thread

No believe me if at this point in time someone hates the Sikhs/Ranjit singh the most in present day pakistani punjab, it has to be Multanis and surrounding Saraikis, the whole tyrannical term being under occupation of "Takht-e-Lahore" (Assan Qaidi han Takht Lahore de) originates from that time.

Im from an old Lahori family (by old i mean residing in Androon Shehr/walled Lahore since at least the early-mid 1800s which is as far back as my elders can track our direct family). Families opinion on Sikh rule has always been negative, especially when it comes to our Muslim religious/historical sites like Sunehri Masjid which were converted into Gurdwaras or Jahangir/Nur Jahans tombs which were looted of all gold and precious items and taken to the Sikh treasury or Gurdwaras.

The most pro-Sikh era views in my experience come from the LUMS crowd. I dont want to use the term liberal (as i consider myself a liberal but in a very different way than is generally understood by many Pakistanis), but it is often individuals who want to show they are "better educated" than other Pakistanis and their "rebellious" views are a testament to their "open-mindedness", that display pro-Sikh era views. Im all for an honest reading of history, and Sikhs were certainly persecuted by the Mughals, but that does not mean i tolerate and support their in turn persecution of the Muslim Punjabi/Potohari population. That is why i think this statue is so wrong and would argue many old Lahoris would think the same.

How do you explain words like sikha shah in rural punjabi? To me it seem like some elite/liberal class of Lahore directly benefitted from Sikh rule. Sikh empire official language remained Persian which meant many muslims who invited him would be employed by sikh empire. Just like under Mughal rule but main difference being punjab muslims actually hold important positions under mughals. Adina baig or that Kamboh user Taimur posted about.

BTW Im not a fan of Afghan/Abdali decoits taking advantage of weak Mughal empire post Nadir Shah invasions. But Afghans never directly ruled punjab like sikhs and mughals before them. And by far punjab muslims were happy under mughal rule then sikh rule. Hell even they welcomed British rule apart from probably some section of Lahore class. Even hindu dogras betrayed sikhs by siding with British.

Doesnt mean I hate sikhs.

LAHORE: A life-size sculpture of Maharaja Ranjit Singh will be unveiled on Thursday outside the Sikh Gallery at Lahore Fort on the eve of his 180th death anniversary.

The life-size statue of the Sikh Punjabi ruler is a first of its kind in Indo-Pak and routine maintenance will be carried out.

“The sculpture is beautiful and very realistic with all characteristics of Maharaja Ranjit Singh,” the creator of sculpture told Express News.

In the sculpture, Singh is sitting on his favorite Arabic horse named Kahar Bahar which was a gift by Dost Muhammad Khan. The horse was very intelligent and was Singh’s favourite horse.

The sculpture was made under the supervision of Faqir Khana Museum Director Faqir Saifuddin. “This sculpture is a tribute and homage to the son of the soil,” he said.

Lahore finally completes the renovation of Sikh heritage sites

“The sculpture is finished in fiber cold bronze material and matchless in its making when compared to other statues of Maharaja Ranjit Singh in this region.”, he added. The sculpture was completed in eight months.

Sikh Heritage Foundation UK Director Boby Singh Bansal, who commissioned the sculpture called it “history in making”, adding that they are “are extremely happy to be a part of this historic moment”.

Saifuddin called the unveiling of “a proud moment” for him. He added that it was personally important because three members of his family were emissaries to Maharaja Ranjit Singh.

“Lahore has had rich cultural and religious diversity for centuries and Ranjit Singh was one important part of it,” he added.

Around 465 Indian Sikh pilgrims are expected to come to Lahore at Gurudawara Dera Sahib, the Samadhi of Maharaja Ranjit Singh where he was cremated, to attend the 180th death anniversary on June 29.

Fakir Khana Museum has also launched 180 limited edition bust sculptures of Maharajah Ranjit Singh for art connoisseurs and those interested in the history of Punjab.

Probably Pakistan will now build the Ram Mandir.

The funny thing is Fawad Chaudry being from Jehlum isn't even a proper "punjabi", strictly speaking he is a pothohari pahari himself so him prasing the so-called "greatest king of punjabis" is even more ridiculous. Someone from Lahore, Gujranwala or Sialkot making such rubbish claims atleast will make some sense but a Jehlumi pothohair guy whose pothohari ancestors were probably slaughtered by Ranjit singh and his likes during his northern raids is quite funny in a tragic way.
Well he definitely ruled Punjab as for sure!!!!
You can't change history ....

They care the most, Multanis for example hate Ranjit singh with a vengeance because of his blood shed of last muslim Nawabs of Multan and his local Saraiki soldiers. That is where the whole term of being occupied by "Takht-e-Lahore" came into existence, this tyrannical "Takht-e-Lahore" term was coined by local Multanis after the occupation of Sikhs (whose seat/takht was in Lahore at that time) and the term has survived to this day, no one likes to be ruled by outsiders, for muslim Saraikis of Multan Ranjeet Singh and his Lahori sikh ilk that invaded and caused blood shed of local multanis is the darkest chapter in their local history.
Saraiki (as I belong to them) are the most peaceful people in the whole country they never entered into a war!
And....Mhr Ranjeet Singh is considered to be very generous by the Sikhs....
This pothohari Fawad Chaudry whose ancestors were disgraced by "punjabi" Ranjeet Singh and his hordes from Lahore is proud of him, this is the kind of person I call perfect "cuckold", just read his tweet from yesterday (before he deletes it) and this mofo is minister in PTI government,
Come on dude it was only a tweet ....
In India Hindus have the same thoughts like yours for the Mughals...
Same in Gujranwala, in my childhood calling someone "Sikh" or "Sikh di aulaad" was considered an abuse. Sorry to our sikh friends else where but the reality is reality, I mean there must be some very bad memories in the generational psyche of our people from Sikha Shahi times that such terms as being called "Sikh" or "Sikh di aulaad" became to be associated with abuses in our areas which were predominantly Muslim areas of Punjab at the time of Sikha Shahi.
Which people are you talking about ???? We don't know about Sikhs regime....
After 100 years of British no one remembered them.... It's a entirely a new generation.... Nothing to do about Sikhs!!!!
The psychic is a whole different thing....
