Lieutenant General, who led Operation Blue Star, attacked in London

This incident and the riots that followed Indira Gnadhi's assassination are still a VERY painful memory as you can understand. Whilst most Sikhs have moved on and are as patriotic as much as the next guy-if not more, it is VERY sad and damning that almost no prosecutions have followed and next to no one brought to justice despite significant apparent evidence and numerous investigations. It is a stain on the Indian state as a whole.

Who cares....they are not Indian citizens.

No brother we have will and must care for all of Indian diaspora....They are our brothers and sisters distances don't change relationships. They are hurt and in grief may say or act in a way that is not to our liking but trust me they will see reason in the end and truth will dwell on them.

Time is a great healer...also don't forget what they went thru.

I can vouch for the fact that many many Sikhs in the UK, America and Canada hate the indian state and armed forces with a passion.

They may.

So may many, many more Hindus who believe that they have a divine right to lord it over the minorities in India. They do not,and they have been put right.

If Sikhs anywhere feel that they can break the laws of the land, violate the sanctity of their own holiest places, murder those who oppose them, kidnap and torture men and women opposing them, build machine gun nests in the Akal Takht, and wage war against the state, and that they must not be opposed, it really does not matter what their supporters feel.

Hindus, Sikhs or Muslims, the rules are the same.

Why didn't you fight for it just like Teesta Setalvad did for Gujurat riots? Being a prosperous community with many good lawyers in their midst its not that hard.

Your kin do much of the same for most of the day, let's not make this solely our fault and if you don't start talking with some consideration, there will be consequences. You may hate us and may be free to show it in your country but this forum is Pakistani and you are our guest, some respect although not demanded, will go a long way in maintaining a healthy atmosphere.

I am an individual and responsible for my action and hence when i do that feel free to report me.

I am only concerned about threads concerning India and i am not among those whose purpose is to loiter over troll threads like flies over ****.

No I don't agree..Indian laws and Indian decisions should be for the betterment of this nation and its people. What some people think in far away land comes last in the priority list.

Obviously I can't speak for the entire commmunity as a whole, but I am sure there is significant effort going into this but all these efforts seem to come to nothing-Sikhs for Justice comes to mind. But look at all these investigations and not a single person other than the "hired muscle"/expendables have been brought to justice:

5.1 Marwah Commission
5.2 Misra Commission
5.3 Kapur Mittal Committee
5.4 Jain Banerjee Committee
5.5 Potti Rosha Committee
5.6 Jain Aggarwal Committee
5.7 Ahuja Committee
5.8 Dhillon Committee
5.9 Narula Committee
5.10 The Nanavati Commissio

I dont know the name of the village in punjab. In that village since 25 yrs,no marriage took place.

Why?

coz all males were killed and few days back i heard that few of them got married who were childrens in 84 and even many of the babies got killed.

and dont forget, how sikh women were raped just to convert them to hindus..its called as operation shudikaran...

so leave congress or leave bjp...every body took part in this operation... :) ..

many of us are not informed about the whole incident and we call many of innocents as terrorist just due to brainwashing by our country..

I dont know the name of the brain washer but he did sow seeds of stupidity among some people who refused to use their own brains and thought through the brains of another..

Look at kashmiris...they are a burden on everyone...yet the govt will fill their stomach with cash.

Really pathetic.

P-S--I am not a sikh.

operation bluestar made the nascent khalistan movement into full fledged demand for separate country for sikhs that resulted in assassination of indira and punjab terrorism .thx to help provided by benazir india was able to curb it.

It was precisely the opposite.

A full-blown terrorist operation was first decapitated and then dismembered. The turning point was Blue Star. If Bhindranwale had not been stopped, he would have coerced the whole of the Punjab to submit to him. What followed after his death was messy and brutal, but it was necessary. It was possible only because Blue Star happened.

The nascent Khalistan movement was nipped in the bud, and what happened was not the completely distorted picture you have presented.

Sikhs in India contribute a lot towards the national security.Did you know in Op Bluestar Sikhs were fighting against the Khalistan terrorists.

No Indian can question the sacrfice Sikhs have made for Indian and continue to make.

The % of people who join the Armed forces from various communities is the highest among Sikhs and even more than that of Hindus.

I am sure that what you say refers to the officers only.

Enlistments are carefully planned to be evenly distributed throughout the country.

I don't know about your Kashmiris but ours are pretty hardy people, if they are giving you a problem, perhaps you should just........hold that referendum?
Whoever wins, at least it will allow us to move on...........
