Minor girl raped by neighbour - The Times of India

I'm not pointing finger at nation but unfortunately, such issues have now become a regular routine in S. Asia. We must take action. We need to wake up!

Appreciate the fact that you did not localize this to an India only & India baiting exercise. The ' thanks' I have given to the post is for that reason & not the content.

Yes , such acts need stringent action.

We now live in an environment where the old boundaries have disappeared.

There is no fear of the law, family ties have become weak hence no fear from that end too, societal norms do not matter and breaking & disregard for the law is considered a feather in the cap rather than a slur.

However, why post this under ' Indian defence' ?

I didn't know where to post this. As this news article was from TOI that's why I posted it in Indian defence.

And dear, not only India but also Pakistan and the whole world is facing this problem. We must unite to fight this menace. We are enemies. I don't have any doubt about it. But just because we're enemies it doesn't mean that we must not try to earn each other's trust. We need to sit together and sort out the problems. War is the last resort and war is itself a problem. We need to prevent the negotiations from breaking down. I'm not among those who blame CIA or RAW or Mossad for every negative thing in my country. Pointing finger at India (or any other enemy) will not solve the problem. We (over here I mean both India and Pakistan by "we") need to take practical steps to solve our problems and rape is one of them. We need new laws to fight this problem. Education and awareness will also help in reducing such problems.

You could consider posting it in South Asia instead.

As for the rest, its refreshing to read a sane view.

Thanks.

That didn't sound right !
what do you mean rape forum ?

" Social Issues across S Asia' would be a more acceptable title perhaps.

For obvious reasons these cases are given more coverage of late. This doesn't mean such acts are happening more. It is great such things are being brought to the public's attention so that things can be done and changes made. In many other countries these heinous acts are accepted as every day life or the police and media are too scared to say of do anything about them so they are swept under the carpet. Good for India that these things are coming out and the people are the ones at the forefront calling for change.

Lieutenant Colonel should have shot him and then complained.....
