How is it bs? The GNC government in Tripoli does not control the area of this ridiculous agreement.bs post...
lol
Turkey used the same method to get half the Black Sea and they don't even have any islands in the Black Sea.Its the middle line from mainland not the islands, the islands have few miles of territorial waters only.
How is it bs? The GNC government in Tripoli does not control the area of this ridiculous agreement.
That territory is effectively part for the House of Representatives government.
Moreover, the President of the Libyan parliament has called the agreement illegal and the Libyan parliament in general hasn't approved it.

Besides, look how Turkey has completely ignored Rhodes,Karpathos,Kasos and Crete and brought their EEZ all the way from the Turkish coast down to Libya.

I remind you,the red is the House of Representatives part of the country. The Tobruk government.
And the blue is the GNC government. The one Turkey signed the agreement with. Look where the supposed Libyan-Turkish EEZ is.

Have you ever looked at the Libyan demographic all your life? 97% of Libya's land is desert and uninhabited. The majority of the population also lives in the area marked in purple. Nearly half of the country's population is in Tripoli and its surroundings, and Misrata's population is moving towards 1 million, especially after the civil war, and is the 3rd largest city according to the last census. Especially the southern part of the area marked in pink is highly controversial. By painting the vast desolate lands different colors, you will only entertain amateurs. How is it bs? Turkiye-Libya maritime border agreement has been registered in the United Nations. The European Union is not in a position to express an opinion on this issue.Turkey is playing double game with west
An island with economic life, it has full EEZ rights acording UNCLOS. All countries in the region have accepted it as evidenced by the EEZ agreements between Greece-Egypt, Greece-Italy, Cyprus-Egypt and Cyprus-Israel.Its the middle line from mainland not the islands, the islands have few miles of territorial waters only.
Just because it was registered by the UN does not mean it has been ratified.Turkiye-Libya maritime border agreement has been registered in the United Nations. The European Union is not in a position to express an opinion on this issue.
Yes,the "big brains" in Brussels have screwed it up and don't know what they want. But Greece and Cyprus are members of the European Union and their gas exploration is of big importance right now.The EU's energy policies are heading for a terrible fiasco. They are stuck in the triangle of Russia, USA and now Turkiye. If they fail to return to a rational strategy, a very painful recession begins for the EU region, as not only energy costs are rising, but the economy is also slowing down.
First of all,I disagree with the "France" thing. The French did play a big part on it,but the Americans were the ones obsessed with taking down Gaddafi. The French had good relations with him the last few years before the war. But as always, they went along with it.The strangest thing is the situation in which France has fallen. They forced and led NATO to invade Libya. When the conditions turned against them, this time they tried the coup after the civil war. But after 10 years of struggle, their hands are almost empty. In order to put Turkiye in a paralyzed position in this invasion, NATO gladio conducted an operation against the Turkish navy with its collaborators. All naval officers and admirals which are against the NATO plan were imprisoned on false charges. When the invasion started, while bombs were falling on Tripoli, we tried to get 50,000 civilians out of the war. Hundreds of Turkish companies went bankrupt, the loss was billions of dollars. However, 10 years later, Turkiye returned to Libya stronger.

We did not fall into the helplessness of Greece, which started to speak less about Haftar when the cases related to this putschist started to be announced one after another in the USA.
It hasn't been approved, that's why Cavusoglu got angry and said "We are two sovereign nations, third countries don't have a say on this".Turkiye-Libya maritime border agreement has been registered in the United Nations. The European Union is not in a position to express an opinion on this issue.
I know that but who cares about UN is any UN resolution practically went on effect NOTurkiye-Libya maritime border agreement has been registered in the United Nations. The European Union is not in a position to express an opinion on this issue.
Although Akritas already replied to you...Islands dont have an EEZ, only territorial waters. Mainland have an EEZ and those lines show the middle point from Turkish mainland, so how is it wrong? Why is it so difficult for u to comprehend this? The greek claims are ridiculous because they go way beyond the mid line from greek mainland.
Your map is the epitome of the Turkish fake news.
Greece starts with what international law says, which is the middle line as stated in UNCLOS

Greece has claimed an Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) as per UNCLOS 1982 as well as customary international law.
According to published maps, the Government of Israel has recognized the EEZ of Greece and Cyprus. They describe the course of the gas pipeline which will transfer gas produced by American Νoble Εnergy Ltd. from the Leviathan reservoir to Europe, through an undersea pipeline crossing Greece. By this proposal, Israel recognizes the Greek EEZ in the area and offers an advantage that Greece can use during negotiation procedures to support its claims on the area. In practice, this cooperation will set up a powerful energy coalition between Greece, Cyprus and Israel. The mining and operating part will be undertaken by an American company.[3] "The substance of the issue is that in an effort to protect and secure vital Israeli interests in the Mediterranean Sea, Israel has been left with no choice other than to officially delimit its maritime borders".[4]
On 8 June 2020, Greece signed an agreement with Italy, establishing an EEZ between the two countries and resolving longstanding issues over fishing rights in the Ionian Sea.[5]
On 6 August 2020, Greece signed an agreement with Egypt designating an EEZ in the Eastern Mediterranean between the two countries.[6] Both agreements are in line with Greece's claimed EEZ as per UNCLOS 1982 as well as customary international law.
There are countries like Britain,France,USA and others, who have islands thousands of km away from their mainland, which have their own EEZ. And we're debating Greece who's islands are just a few dozens or at most, hundreds of km from the mainland?
Check out Britain for example:

157 countries have signed UNCLOS,including Pakistan.Just because israel and others recognize it, doesn't make it legal.
Turkey has enough EEZ already. The historical circumstances have given Turkey this much space and EEZ. Other countries barely have any at all!By ur logic, Turkey should have no EEZ at all because there are greek Islands just few kms from Turkish shores.
As always, you resort to racism and the typical "evil white man" narration.Typical with u Europeans, twist words, use recognition by allies to legaloze a totally illegal thing. Remember how u ppl used to legalize colonialism and slavery?
UNCLOS does not give greece all that EEZ. The map u showed gives greece EEZ upto cyprus, which is ridiculous and absurd. In other instances, UNCLOS agreements involve midline from mainland, thats how most EEZs are settled. How tf u get all the sea upto cyprus??157 countries have signed UNCLOS,including Pakistan.

May I remind you that 157 countries have signed UNCLOS? And that Egypt,Israel and the Tobruk government of Libya are ok with our EEZ? Are these people "white Europeans"?
Besides that, colonialism and slavery has absolutely nothing to do with this subject. You forget that slavery was a massive part of Ottoman and African muslim tradition? Ah,there goes your narration.
As for "twist of words",do you know that Turkey wants to use different methods to establish their EEZ,depending on the area?
