Sorry Bengali only.

- Initial annual production (400,000 units of flat screen TV's) started in mid March, 2018
- Aircon and refrigerators to be produced from mid-2019
- 120,000 sq. ft. area
- 10 crore ($100 Million) investment in total
- Exports to start after meeting local demand
- Samsung had also started an electronics factory in Gazipur a few months ago

First Samsung and now LG, amazing development. Hope our Walton can keep up to be competitive.

On another note, does purchasing power increase when such consumer electronics prises drop? I am guessing so, since manufacturing here with our own people will give manufacturers breaks from tariffs and other extra tax of importing. That should increase overall purchasing power of the consumer.

Very good. Bangladesh is now a very fertile ground to flourish the electronics industry. :-)

Open competition is the key to achieve the quality which is so much important to shed off foreign imports and expand our export potential. So let them fight.:D

the time is ripe now to invest in defence electronics.....

Competition keeps corporations on their line. Good thing.

An small example.
Samsung and LG 18000 BTU air-con's with inverter costs 86,000 BDT and 90,000 BDT respectively.

An 18000 BTU Walton air-con with inverter costs 63,000. And the built quality is very good. Singer air-cons are cheaper though. BDT 56,000 for the same specifications.

With new manufacturing plants costs will go down, but still will be more expensive than Walton
