What's new

Let's summarize all the fighter talk

The J-15 isn't in service; the J-20 isn't even close to induction and ya nationalist kids are talking about J-21? Indians might as well discuss how to counter paper J-21s with their plastic MCA.

J-20 is real. "2001" and "2002" flying.

J-15 is flying with domestic WS-10A engine. Videos on YouTube.

F-60 was just seen on truckbed.

J-10A and J-10B are real. Fair to discuss J-10C.

Everything is real and legitimate to discuss.

I am interested in what follows the “F-60" or J-21 if the PLAAF decides to induct it。It is said to be considerably larger than anything we have seen so far from SAC。

Both CAC and SAC are working on UCAVs。Let's wait and see what transpires in the near future。

Time is ticking。:)

hey guys...any1 knows the timeframe for induction of j20 in plaaf??...

since its been in news for quite a while

China says 2017-2019. U.S. says 2018.

2018 seems to be the consensus.

..............???

I fell while running on gravel. I weigh 210 pounds. I used to bike for 8 miles to the next town and back (which is a 16-mile round trip). I also used to swim for hours.

I was running really fast and my legs generated too much power. The gravel just rolled out from under my feet. I used my right palm to break my fall. The stupid gravel gouged four deep holes in my palm. My left palm is damaged too. My right knee is a mess.

Anyway, I went to the emergency room and underwent debridement. I'm pretty happy that my right hand is kinda working. I'm just waiting for new skin to grow back.

The observation is that other people can safely run on gravel. However, a 210-pound guy with really fast speed is asking for it.

Oh, I advise everyone to go to the emergency room right away if you're injured (beyond superficial scratches). The doctor cleaned out my major wounds and gave me a Tetnus shot to protect against Tetnus bacteria.

When you're injured, don't wait. Your wounds can become infected. The bacteria can move into your bloodstream and attack other parts of your body.

My hand will be back to normal in about three weeks. Hurts like hell right now. Think I'll pop another Advil.

What do I do after I'm injured? I'm back on the defense forums. I think there's something wrong with me. Ha ha.

I think there won't be any competition between J20 and J21 since the latter is solely for the Navy. I am eagerly waiting for this J2x export version. BD may be a future candidate.:)

I hope PAK should go for J10c instead of J10B. It would be a good replacement for F16s.

Something tells me that several sqaudrons of these fighters will be delivered in the mid-2020s to BD.

Can some chinese friends tell me how may Aircraft companies are there in China. Both CAC and SAC are corporates for many
aerospace subsideries right? Individually how many aerospace companies are there?

Inshallah. A lot will depend on the political situation in BD and production capacity of the chinese.
I think PAF will get it first. We may be second in line.

sorry to hear that, I wish a quick recovery for you.

I just hope that BD does not order any more 4+ generation fighters after the 16 rumoured SU-30MK2/3's and saves the money required for these Chinese stealth aircraft.

.
Still they upgraded it to twin engined F-18s. Isn't lesser payloads means more aircraft or sorties required for the mission, which could have accomplished by lesser twin engined aircraft with greater payload?

Harrier is mainly a ground attack aircraft with limited multirole capability, Super Entendard is being replaced by twin engine Rafales. And F-35s single engine generates insane amount of thrust which makes up for it.
Look at it this way: Logistics.

You can do your own research on how many different aircrafts -- including helos -- a US aircraft carrier totes on a deployment. Now do your own speculation on how would YOU, the logistic manager, keep all those aircrafts supplied with adequate parts for a standard 6-months cruise.

The issue is no longer how reliable is the single engine. It has been proven to be more than adequate over the years ending with the F-16 putting the final nail in the coffin of that debate. As for the two-engines aircraft being the preference, we will have to leave it up to the flyers themselves to debate. If I am in charge of the USN, I would have the service do a comprehensive study on how the Navy could accomplish its mission with as few aircraft TYPES as possible then build a lot of that TYPE. If it require two engines, so be it. But in order to streamline the logistics of keeping several battle groups deployed something must be done regarding how many aircraft TYPES do we have to maintain. The USN recognized that necessity a long time ago and the F-18SH was selected to be that naval jack-of-all-trades variant of the USAF F-16. The running joke is that the F-18 have become the Honda Accord of the USN.

SAC and CAC are parts of AVIC Aircraft which also includes, amongst others Hongdu Aircraft、Xi'an Aircraft、Shanxi Aircraft etc。AVIC is one giant conglomerate having under it subsidiaries in their hundreds if not thousands。 The bigger ones are CATIC、AVIC Helicopter. AVIC Engine, AVIC Defence. AVIC Avionics, AVIC Heavy Machinery, AVIC Capital, AVIC Electromechanical Systems, AVIC GA, AVIC Commercial Aero Engine, AVIC Auto, AVIC Construction Engineering, AVIC Flight Test Establishment, AVIC Assets MNanagement, AVIC Properties etc. etc....The group has some 25 listed subsidaries on the Shenzhen Shanghai Stock exchanges, such as ...
