What's new

Let Karachi live again

Yes - development of Karachi is an antithesis to PPP’s leadership goals of generating a perpetual personal fiefdom for themselves
Bhutto won from Karachi too in 1970 elections yet he initiated Sindhi quota system. Ethno fascist

.
Karachi should become more proactive and united to stop this situation
At the end of the day this is going on cause you're consenting to it by not protesting or leading some sort of a proper, dedicated movement for autonomy of Karachi

MQM wasn't it, it was an ethnic party and pakistani powers to be never like outwardly ethnic parties and ofcourse other groups of Karachi won't like them either

There should have been an "outgrowth" from fix it movement
Make it an official political party for Karachi and it's devalopment period

No ethnic, no relgious or other undertone
Pure "pan" Karachi party, so you can unite the city behind everyday issues of Thier lives
With proper campaign You'll get the support of everyone in diverse Karachi (theoretically cause everyone is suffering), you'll not scare off rest of the country, ethnic groups of Karachi by making it an ethnic party

imagine fix it but bigger and a political for just Karachi and it's issues
Mustafa Kamal is failing miserably in that regard even with establishment help - the seeds of ethnic divide will not go away from the northern(poorer) sections of Karachi and Kamal isn’t an appealing leader for the elite, upper middle educated variety.
Imran Khan was quite popular but his lack of delivery on Karachi has lost him a massive support bank. Now a larger section of educated of Karachi are essentially uninterested and apathetic about Pakistan in general so that is another loss that will hit in 5-10 years.

.
So Karachi won't be getting more budget even if Karachites start voting PPP? That's weird

Pakistan Navy stationed at Karachi is not part of mighty establishment? 🤔
Headquarter is in Pindi

And besides when is PPP harming Navy's interest, remember they are colluding and sucking Karachi dry together.

At the end of the day this is going on cause you're consenting to it by not protesting or leading some sort of a proper, dedicated movement for autonomy of Karachi- no other big city in Pakistan would tolerate this situation, thierll be consequences both in elections, protests etc

From what I gather people in Karachi are the most moderate and socialised in comparison to the rest of Pakistan. This makes a perfect base because the potential of transforming this city can earn billions a year just from tourism alone.

Just need to clear off these corrupt politicans, gangs, terorrists, afghan refugees, mafias, cartels etc etc

No Bhutto lost Karachi to religious parties, hence establishment of MQM to counter the religious parties.

Not exactly - Bhutto won the already altered ethnic mix introduced by Ayub and introduction of urban migration. But his ethnofacist politics also ruined him and Pakistan in many ways starting from Karachi. Imran Khan is heading down the same path by the overt favoring of his origins.

Depends - racism runs rampant within every section and ethnicity of society. It is however mostly diluted in the educated middle class post millennials regardless of ethnicity because a unified identity has emerged there(Thank western based education for that). This is also the class that now wants out of Pakistan as well because they see nothing in common with them - hence the problem that those capable of uniting are now least interested in doing so.

They're as a people group Way too much into ethnic stuff, everything they'll look at is from an ethnic angle (you can see with interactions too in overseas)
You know rangers had to come and put up Pakistani flags in parts the city as there were barely any Pak flags but they were too divided along secterian, ethnic lines

To "instill" pakistaniyat (dg rangers)
What does instilling pakistaniyat
It meant they're deeply into ethnic divisions and instilling pakistaniyat will give them presepctive of the bigger picture here
Atleast this was his "solution" to bring solidarity between the groups

So they'll first need to stop BS for a second and just goddamn fight for your autonomy, water, etc
Else nothings going to change and every single one of em regardless of divisions will continue to struggle for decades

Yep I liked Mustafa Kamal and seemed like a pan Karachi figure
But maybe his historical association with MQM is turning off?

I don't want a national party like PTI in Karachi
Fix it guys, Mustafa Kamal should join up and make Karachi centric party

And stop the votes of Karachi from going to any other party
PPP, PTI, or anyone just focus on Karachi

Karachi is PPP’s gold bird to decimate with corrupt practices and ethnic politics. They will start openly supporting a Sindhudesh insurgency before they ever let Karachi go.
so our security agencies are okay with a mafia treating 3 caror people like roaches because they dont have balls to counter sindhudesh bs or they are partner in this crime!

.
It cannot happen without the consent of Sindh parliament (2/3 majority)

Governor Raj for Sindh will fix it.

Establishment played a big game with Mustafa Kamal. They used him to weaken MQM and they gave PSP seats to PTI.

Establishment will continue to play their games until they accomplish what they want.

Nawaz Sharif went to abroad because Establishment made a deal with PMLN.
Establishment made a deal with PPP to give them relief (Dheel).

My suggestion to PPP and PTI to move Sindh capital from Karachi to Hyderabad or create a new City west of Hyderabad.

18 amendment is very good for the country and governor raj is A- political sucide B- it's sets a very bad presidence C- PTI would never do it (rightfully so)

Only way to solve issues of Karachi is if people of Karachi wake up and take charge

These short term stupidity of ending 18th amendment just because of Karachi (when it enjoys support from other provinces) or political sucide of governor Raj

Won't fix it

Karachi and generally the people of Pakistanis are lumpen proletariat - look that term up.

Make an educated guess - I’ll give you hint - it buys you LX570s

Look at this. A list of Karachi ambulances. Nothing official, looks like its charities. Karachi is the breadwinner for Pakistan and it doesn't have something as basic as calling an ambulance? Only people in Karachi have themselves to blame if they tolerate this.

if ppl of khi protest (eventually we will fk this fauji protected turd party) we will be labelled terrorist because we will demand freedom this fauji gardi and punjabis would hate it because a peaceful khi will hurt businesses in Punjab! and this wont end well for Pakistan! but dha qabza mafia and punjabi lobby dont care about Pakistan bastards only care about land grabbing and motorways in punjab!

if you look take a macro look at Pakistan and see what parts are "disturbed" youll find those are area rich in resources and youll find fauji inc have total control over these area i wonder what fkry is that!

These overused narratives are getting old and boring now, come up with something new

Unfortunately for the Sindhi people, the quality of education and the ethnic policies means that their education will never be good enough because they are able to bypass merit

A lot of truth about the merit part. While standard of education in Karachi were not stellar they were still way better than interior Sindh through the 1980s. I will tell a personal account. I scored about only 63% in intermediate (high school) exams but whatever it was, it was hard work with as real learning as could be done, within the context of the rote learning system in Pakistan; but deep down even the young man in me knew that cheating in learning would eventually hurt my career and life. Anyway, I failed to get into a medical school in the 1980s because of quota system otherwise I was very close for a Sindh Medical College admission. I don't think I was bitter then nor am I now. I thought and still think the rural Sindhis should be given some reasonable advantages, such as the Affirmative Action in America, which is often 'unfair' to a merit system but works on some level.
But what I can't understand is the total lack of standards in the interior Sindh educational places! I had a distant cousin in interior Sindh who scored 70% in similar intermediate exams and he was barely literate! Rural Sindh was and maybe still is in some vicious cycle of total disregard for quality education, producing semi-literate professionals whose path forward is through ethnic politics. On the other hand, I hear the quality of education, especially in many many private institutes in Karachi is much better than it used to be in the 1980s. Indeed it impresses me a lot when I visit Karachi and speak with my young nieces and nephews; I was nowhere their competence when I was young like them.
